"There you are! I'm done with the dishes, Boo." Tubbo walked towards them. Then they turned around and he froze in his tracks.

Another louder crash, and Tommy hardly sees one of the aisles collapse in on itself before he’s buried his face in Wilbur’s chest.
His heart is thumping like he’s running a marathon, and all but his legs are wrapped around Wilbur. Shaking and uncontrollably chirping, Tommy still doesn’t think he’s felt safer in his life than in Wilbur’s arms.
And Wilbur is hugging Tommy back, rubbing above his wings and whispering, “It’s fine, no one was hurt. It only fell, dear. I’ve got you.”
Tommy can’t totally understand the words, not when his mind is a jumble of fear and adrenaline. He’s all instincts now, but he knows that Wilbur is protecting him and Wilbur will keep him safe. Tommy can’t even fight his birdbrain when the name of his foster brother is replaced by the title, dad.

Or: Tommy accidentally imprints on his human foster brother, Wilbur, after a minor inconvenience. Now, he feels pressured to keep his instincts and feelings a secret… which should be easy enough, right?

Phil loved each and every one of his children, regardless of whether or not they were a hybrid. Wilbur was no different to this love. He fit right in, and Phil loved him the same as he loved his other two sons. He fit in perfectly and understood them all so well, which is why it ate Phil up so much that he couldn’t say the same back.
Alternatively: Wilbur's upset, SBI doesn't understand humans, gets reality check, and then decides their idea is better than the recommended idea. They're right. It is a better idea.

Tubbo rests their joined hands in Tubbo’s lap, careful to keep his grip on Tommy light. “See?” Tubbo murmurs, quiet. Reassuring. “That wasn’t too bad.” He makes to let go, but- Tommy grips back onto him as soon as Tubbo loosens his grip. Tubbo looks at him questioningly.
“Tommy?” Tubbo asks. Tommy’s eyes are squeezed shut – have been, ever since Tubbo started reaching out to touch him. He’s biting his lip. Experimentally, Tubbo rubs circles gently into the backs of Tommy’s hands. Tommy shudders briefly. “That okay?” Tubbo inquires quietly.
Tommy’s eyes remain shut, but Tubbo catches the slightest bit of a nod from his best friend. Tubbo furrows his brows further.

Tommy was just trying to get away from the vanguard of murder robots. He did not mean to fall from the sky and break most of his equipment (including his bones). And now he's been kidnapped/adopted by a beanpole, a wingman, and a pig. Help.
Phil and Ranboo are just chillin' in Techno's house when a tiny feral version of Tommy falls from the sky. Which shouldn't be possible because, according to Ranboo, Tommy died in prison. He's got weird armor, weirder weapons, he just tried to stab Phil, and- oh, okay, he blasted a hole in the wall. Lovely.
None of these people know what they're doing, and the child just brings more angst, fluff, and shenanigans than anyone thinks is possible while also kickstarting a mass emotional healing arc that no one knew they needed.

Dream grew a lot this past year and a half--sorry, week. Or, day, maybe? Gods, it hasn't been very long at all for him, has it? It feels like an eternity.
Whatever. The point is that he's a very different person now than he was when this whole thing started, and this Dream wants to lie down. He's done being scared, and he's ready for a nap.
He's got a good book, and his buddies by his side, and it's warm and cozy in this house in the arctic.
Maybe he would have gone on a bigger adventure if he'd stayed on his path.
Maybe it would have been grand.
Maybe 'maybe's just enough for him, though.
It's time for Dream to close his eyes, take a breath, and go to sleep. The night is quiet and the house is warm. Undeniably, Dream is loved.

Dream's going to be fine no matter what. Techno said Dream was his best friend and he's pretty sure best friends don't let each other get eaten.
