The two boys seemed to pause in surprise, both equally astonished at the greeting.
The stranger’s eyes squinted in another manner, new creases forming between his brows.

Ever since Geto left, Gojo hasn't been himself. At all. At first, he assured himself-through his tears and shaking fingers that he would come back. Suguru was joking!- they pull pranks on each other all the time. A day passed. Then a week. Gojo has been reduced to eyebags and chipped fingernails.
Suguru is going to come back. Meanwhile, He waits. He waits and reassures himself that Suguru wouldn’t leave him. That his best friend wouldn't abandon him.
That his one and only will be back.-

Summary
Gojo Satoru is dead. He failed to save his students, his friends, the world. But against all odds; he trusts that he's left the world in the right hands. He trusts that he at least saved the one thing that really mattered in the end...that is until he follows him to the afterlife.

The words that wrench themselves from Satoru's throat are unlike him, a guttural cry torn from the depths of his anguish. His voice is raw, a trembling whisper, choked with tears threatening to spill over.
"That's my kid."
-Or in other words, Satoru finds himself in the afterlife with Suguru, and things are good- until he realizes the cost of it all.
