Because standing in the very not-destroyed, dense streets of Shibuya, lined with the bright colors of department stores, hotels, tourist attractions, and advertisements plastered across every available space, Yuuji did not have Choso as support. He didn't have Fushiguro as support. He didn't even have Okkotsu as support.
Yuuji was inconceivably, utmostly, wholly, not-awesomely fucked because he was in the year 2005.
🔴 OR: Stuck over a decade in the past, Yuuji has resolved to do anything to ensure his future doesn't come to be.
It would really be a lot easier if Geto Suguru wasn't so overbearing, if Gojo Satoru wasn't such an asshole, if Ieiri Shoko stopped instigating things, and if Yuuji were just a tiny bit smarter.
But he was on his own, so damn it if he wasn't going to work with what he got.

There was something just slightly off in every interaction between Gojo-sensei and Fushiguro and once Yuji’d begun to notice it, he couldn’t unsee it. It wasn’t a bad kind of off – at least he didn’t think so – but it was just different from the way either of them acted around everyone else.

Summary

“Let’s get one thing straight,” Suguru says, his voice low and threatening, dark eyes glittering in the waning sunlight streaming through the windows. “I’m not doing this as a favor to you. I am doing this because you’re right about one thing and one thing only-- Megumi deserves better than a life with Limitless.”
Suguru leans in close enough that Satoru can count his individual lashes. Satoru’s heart thunders in his chest, his limbs cold and useless where he sits.
“And when all is said and done, I want you gone from my life. Permanently. I have worked too god damned hard to give my daughters some sense of normalcy, and if you fuck that up-- you will wish you’d stayed an agent. Are we clear, Satoru?”
Satoru’s nod is the barest flicker of movement. Suguru releases him and steps back.
“Good. Glad we understand each other.”
Or: the one where a young Megumi is thrust upon Satoru and they go on a good old-fashioned American cross-country road trip about it.

“What am I, then?”
“That was an emergency. Also, you’re not a stranger anymore.” Megumi blinks. “You’re Suguru.”
Suguru fights the urge to slam his head against the pole in the middle of the train carriage. Instead, he says: “Can I talk to your dad?”
Megumi loses his dad on the train, and finds a certain tall, raven-haired man instead.

“He is not my dad.” He outwardly cringes, “He is though, kept hitting his head on doors. He was a fucken twig then too.” It sort of hit him that Gojo was barely older than him when he took them in. Sure, he had a little help, but it was never really enough. He suddenly starts remembering differently. Gojo was always loud and obnoxious in his mind, but that wasn’t really it.

Satoru tilts his head, licks his lips once, twice. “Nope. Pretty sure yours is different.”
“Satoru, look.” Suguru holds up his can, points at Satoru’s. “They’re both Cola. We got them from the same rack.”
Satoru’s face twists up in a look of displeasure. He picks up his own drink, takes a sip, licks his lips twice again and shakes his head. “Well I want to try yours.”

Summary
A pointed look pierces through the expression, aimed towards Satoru when the implications of a now visibly person-sized tunnel made recognition flitter along his features.
“Are you fucking serious?” are the words that break past parted lips, the ridicule in his head slipping out verbally. The heat fogged his brain and hindered his filter. Satoru doesn't seem to mind, not with the way his eyes crinkle at the ends with amusement when he cranes his neck back to peer up toward the boy scowling down at him.
“What? Claustrophobic?”
Suguru scoffs at that.
“What are we? Moles?”
Satoru’s legs part from where he's crouched, the backs of his heels pressing together to stabilize himself. Elbows rest lazily on thighs, knees pointed out in opposite directions. The stance was comparable to a delinquent frog.
“Even better, we’re weasels.” He hums back like it was some incredibly witty thing to say, that trademark, waggish smirk easing up the corners of his lips.

“And you are sick. You’re both sick. And after all the bullshit life has put you through, I’d honestly be more surprised if you came out unscathed. But you didn’t. And I’m sorry. But you can’t just stay like this forever, Gojo. I won’t let you just continue to be miserable and think you can handle everything yourself, until one day you finally fucking break.”Gojo successfully beats Sukuna and Kenjaku, freeing Megumi and Suguru from their possession.
