But the Dessendre family are not the only ones suffering the consequences of that disastrous plan when Alicia getting stuck in Verso's childhood canvas and an entirely different life leads to Noah getting stuck there as well.
Now Noah is back, bringing with him the memories of dying in a world that no longer exists and an entire lifetime in which Verso meant nothing to him. Meanwhile, Alicia struggles with adjusting back to a life she no longer wants and still doesn't know that Verso is alive - as is Gustave, in a way.But those turn out to be the least of their problems as the conflict between the Writers and the Painters takes a turn for the worse and either side expresses their displeasure with the events that lead to that escalation, and the people responsible for them.

This fanfiction is a huge huge experiment born from a couple of my convictions: the first is that I have always thought Lord Voldemort was not so credible as a villain, his backstory was developed in depth, but he always felt like he had been built solely to justify why he had become an embodiment of the devil; he was so thoroughly evil that he ended up feeling unconvincing and flat as a character. The second is that the narrative device Rowling used to connect Harry and Voldemort always struck me as a little "weak" a random newborn takes down the most powerful dark wizard of all time...So I asked myself: wouldn't it work better if Voldemort were Harry Potter's true father? And consequently how could that have happened? What went on inside the young Tom Riddle to lead him to the decision to become the Dark Lord? Could there have been a human side to him? Were the characters described as good and pure really without even a hairline crack of ambiguity did they never commit a single real sin, even out of simple human frailty? And out of all these questions came a Tom–Lily story.
Brace yourself for a dynamic between the two that is not immediately, but inevitably,toxic…he is still Voldemort, after all. -
