Their goodbyes had been rushed, knowing it would not be long before people arrived. And, as Freddy had no doubt, Gregory had likely been eager to leave the pizzaplex after everything that had happened.
Gregory had gone through the doors slowly, as if he perhaps had not truly expected them to open and allow him through. Then, once he was safely outside, he had turned to wave at Freddy before running off into the early morning sunlight.
The pizzaplex had never felt so quiet and empty as it had then. And even during their busiest hours, Freddy could never quite shake the feeling.
(Or, Gregory comes home.)

It was admittedly rather difficult to explain why Alphonse needed to wear a suit of armor at all times, and even harder to explain why there was no body inside said armor. When asked, “Why do you wear that armor?” or reacting to, “Gah! There’s no one in there!”, the Elric brothers learned to have several ready excuses available.
After all, soul binding wasn’t that common. There were plenty of other ways to explain an empty suit of armor, right?
…
Or, Fullmetal Alchemist where everything is the same but the Elrics come up with increasingly more creative excuses as to why Al wears armor, and why his armor is empty.
