They weren’t warm; they were heavy, heavy enough that Iago knew better than to pull away outright. “She’s hardly your average lick, as the young are so fond of saying. My curiosity is infinite, of course, as to why you’re seeking her at all.”
Iago kept their expression neutral. “And your receptiveness towards haggling?”
A deep, warm laugh ruffled the hair on top of Iago’s head. “Far less effusive, I’m afraid.”

Summary
Something in Bodie, California is luring truckers to their deaths and Dean’s on his way to take it out. It’s the first time Bobby’s given him a case and, with Sam at Stanford and his dad off chasing demons, he's finally hunting monsters on his own. When an accidental encounter puts an as-of-yet-unknown monster in the passenger seat of his car, Dean decides to ice him, taking his dad's old adage to heart: a monster is always a monster. Unfortunately, Dean can’t seem to figure out what kind of monster "Castiel" is and he certainly can’t shake him.

Two things that are true:
1) Carter Hall's wings may be mechanical, but they hook into his nervous system and have just as much sensation as they would if they were natural ones.
2) Before they go out into the field, Kent Nelson routinely (and secretly) casts a contingency spell so that if Carter is ever incapacitated by pain during a fight, Kent will take it instead.
It's only a matter of time before these two true things combine.

Written as a fill for the DCEU kinkmeme prompt:
Clark temporarily loses his powers, and while it's initially jarring, he gradually adjusts and tries to go about on a somewhat normal routine after telling his inner circle (which can also include the League since they're building themselves up). Problem is that he is somehow an even bigger danger magnet than Lois in this state.

Summary
While on a mission storming a HYDRA facility, James Buchanan Barnes touches one of the many strange alien devices collected by the Red Skull. He does this, in fact, twice— in the past, and in the future.
Next thing he knows, Bucky Barnes is opening his eyes in the 21st century, which is full of great gadgets and coffee, and at least includes his old pal Steve. (And, inexplicably, a different Stark.) Meanwhile, the Winter Soldier finds himself in the middle of World War Two, helping Captain America hunt down HYDRA (which is at least familiar), pretending to be Bucky Barnes (which is not), and figuring out the very noisy group of soldiers who call themselves the Howling Commandos.
