"Sorry for waking you up," C00lkidd said suddenly. 1x scoffed, dismissing his concern.
"Nah, kid, I was already awake."
The child tilted his head in an almost cute gesture of confusion. "But why, though?"
"Same reason as you," 1x said impulsively. They regretted it the moment the words left their mouth.
C00lkidd looked at him with a mix of curiosity and genuine sympathy. "Did you have a bad dream about your dad, too?" 1x bristled, stuttering for a second before managing to speak.
"He isn't my—" Something made she stop mid-sentence, teeth gritting. Telamon never acted like a father to them. But, in the distant past, 1x remembered thinking of him as one. Hell, they remembered calling him that - for the first and last time. The god's piercing glare and the harsh retort they received in return were enough to change 1x's entire perspective. Telamon is your creator, do not treat him as anything less than that.
Even so, the answer slipped out again before 1x could hold it back. "...Something like that," she muttered, crossing her arms.

Count Fwhip stood up with a bang as he slammed his clawed hands against the meeting table, wings flaring out behind him, “How dare you, you slimy little-”
High Wizard Gem laid a hand on her brother’s shoulder and pushed him back down in his chair before he could leap across the table to attack Jimmy. But her glare was stuck on him, and her voice was like venom.
“I never expected this from you, Codfather. I invite you to remember that King Sausage is still our brother despite his corruption, and that this is a slight against all the heirs of Mythland. An apology is in order.”
A mistranslation leads to drama during a stressful House Blossom Alliance meeting, but with some revelations and cultural discussion, the emperors resolve it.

The Codfather’s loose shirt is gone now, and while Scott certainly hadn’t expected that level of muscle definition, that isn’t what he’s focused on. Jimmy’s torso is littered with scars. They’re all over, some large and others tiny, some an aged white and others a shiny red. He gapes at them, confused—what had happened? Is the sea really that dangerous? He knows Jimmy’s clumsy, does it justify this?
“What happened to you?” he blurts out, and Jimmy turns to him, face a picture of confusion, before his eyes follow Scott’s gaze. Comprehension dawns and his face closes off.
“You know how it is,” he says coolly, and Scott is pretty sure he does not, in fact, know how it is.
