When the Ministry informs Harry that they are coming to destroy his wand for defending himself from the dementors that attack him in Little Whinging, Harry knows there's only one path left available to him. He can survive on his own. He knows how. It won't even be that hard. And being on the run in his animagus form makes him a feel a little closer to Sirius, anyway.
At least, he thinks so, until he's picked up by a pet store, sold to a classmate, and brought right back to Hogwarts where the state of things is so bad that he's actually glad he's expelled.

Instead of dying Anakin ends up reincarnated (sort of) as a big chakra beast (also sort of) in Uzio (Whirlpool country). Over time he goes from being a passive spectator beast, to becoming a part of the chaotic and loveable Uzio family, and saving them from destruction. Also he and Sakumo end up together, and other stuff happens. But what I really like about the story is how Anaking slowly rediscovers his humanity by living as a beast amongst humans. Very cute.
