As she and Jonathan walk hand in hand to his car parked by the curb they notice another car parked behind it. And Mrs. Holland is already out of it and on her way towards them. Paper in hand and tears in her eyes. Mr. Holland behind her, his round face contorted with sorrow.
”Nancy, I- did you see the paper? I… sorry to ambush you like this I just had to-”
Mrs. Holland can’t finish the sentence as she bursts into tears, letting out anguishing cries.
She wraps Barb’s mom up in a hug as she comes up to her. Now her resolve breaks. They cry in each other’s arms. She cries for Barb, for the greatest friend anyone could have, for the girl who should’ve gotten out of this town off to an Ivy League where she’d flourish, who died in the most horrible way you can die. She cries for sweet Mrs. and Mr. Holland who was robbed of their brilliant daughter, who never gets to see all the great things Barb would’ve gone on to do.

It's been four years since they all reunited for the younger kids' graduation and agreed to meet up in Philly. For most of those four years Nancy has been a friend, just a very good friend, but in the last couple of months the facade of friendship has started to fall and Jonathan has realised he has feelings for her again. He's been dealing with this by ignoring her, but now she's moving to New York and it seems like it won't be that possible to avoid her anymore. Which isn't ideal, when she's made it clear for many years that they will never be anything else than just best friends.
Or, After all the time, it turns out Jonathan is still a bit in love with Nancy, and he might be a bit of twat as he works out what to do about it.

Basically, what the title says. This is my re-write of Stranger Things season 3. I'm mainly doing this to build up to my Stranger Things season 4 re-write. The plot's the same, but I actually have Chrissy and Eddie involved in the plot of Stranger Things season 3.
