It starts like every other fight. Liu Qingge lands one hit to Luo Binghe's every three, both of them bruising and collecting injuries like art. It drags on until the sunlight starts to fade, until they're both breathing heavily and covered in a fine sheet of sweat.
And then Luo Binghe makes a mistake.
It's small - just a minor misstep, an unfortunate shift of balance. Against any other opponent, it wouldn't mean a thing. Wouldn't make a difference. But Liu Qingge has been watching. Liu Qingge has been waiting for Luo Binghe to make a mistake for years. He quickly changes his attack mid-step, throwing his weight against the opening Luo Binghe's mistake left, and Luo Binghe falls. Liu Qingge falls with him, of course -he compromised too much of his balance with that attack - but he makes sure to end up on top, straddling Luo Binghe and pressing the flat of Cheng Luan's blade to his neck.
Without meaning to, without thinking to stop it, Liu Qingge smiles at him, bright and genuine and triumphant.
Luo Binghe's breath catches.
"I win."

It just kind of became their thing, self-care nights as Yuuji calls them. They always invited Megumi to join them, too. After all, everything they did was better when it was the three of them together. But he usually either declined their invitations or came up with elaborate excuses about how he didn't get the appeal or it simply wasn't his thing. Honestly, Nobara could see right through his bullshit on that, but there's only so much threatening to kick his ass she can do before he calls her bluff.
Or, Yuuji and Nobara have regular 'self-care' nights with face masks and skincare routines and manicures. And Megumi absolutely refuses to participate.

Summary
A mostly crackfic series that asks, what if Shane and Ilya were slightly out of character? Shane is bitchier, Ilya is manic and philosophical, Cliff Marleau and the Boston boys take turns babysitting their crashing-out captain, and Shane finally gets recognized as the pretty, funny, sassy player he is.
Nothing is too serious about this, it's a mix of show and book canon, and a healthy dose of fanon (himbo king Cliff). Ilya is allowed to catch feelings early, as a treat and Shane is allowed to let his inner mean girl out.
Please enjoy these silly boys and their silly relationships! Four works so far with more to come! How much more? I don't know! They keep doing silly things and my brain keeps writing it down.

He was only testing, only proving what he already knew- or thought he knew. He had thought this thing between them was cheap and easy. Shane, apparently, believed it to be worth about a grand. The thought nauseated him. This was what his father did, and what his brother did, what the whole hungry lot of them did- were they, too, just pushing Ilya to see how far he’d go? And he, this, wasn’t it just the same? Running up somebody else’s bill just because he could, just because he wasn’t told no? What a stupid fucking idea. $1200 wine. He didn’t even like wine.(In some nameless hotel room in a nameless city in a nameless year, Ilya asks- jokingly- for the most expensive thing on the room service menu. Shane Hollander thinks Ilya should get whatever he wants no matter the price)
