"I myself and my predecessors before me have tried our best to keep meticulous records, but between our constant moving and the cruelty of time, some of this history has been lost. And being the Keeper that I am, I would do anything to have that knowledge back. So.” He leans in close to Cal, trapping him in on either side with his arms against the wall.
“Tell me what you know.”

Summary
Two-Body Problem; noun, Astronomy, Mechanics. The problem of finding the motion, relative to one another, of two objects, where the position of each affects the motion of the other.
He lowers his saber but does not turn it off. “Hey there,” he says. “You need to get out of here, evacuate off the planet. It’s not safe.”
“Mechanical failures on levels four and nine,” the droid responds. “Full breach detected on level twelve.”
Cal frowns. “Maybe it’s stuck in some kind of auto programming?” he asks BD.
“Scanning. Total system failure. Anomaly detected. Signature unknown.”
BD chitters nervously on his shoulder.
“Hey,” Cal tries again. “If you can hear me – the exit is through that corridor, up the incline. Meet me out there, and I’ll get you out of here, okay?”
The droid shuffles around again, as if responding to something that he and BD cannot see.
“Anomaly detected.” it says again. And then it looks right at Cal. “Escape is futile.”

Summary
A collection of short fics, loosely connected by Cal’s Mid Rim-sized sleep deficit.
(1) Cal Kestis is nine years old and has caf where his blood ought to be.
(2) being a Padawan means facing your fears, like asking for help when you need it. and possibly running into the terrifying medic who works first shift.
(3) Cal gets captured by Separatists. rather than hurt him, they try sleep-depriving him into insanity.
(4) despite planning to keep his head down and stay out of trouble on Bracca, Cal gets roped into a Shenanigan anyway.
(5) Cal is tired. and lonely. and traumatized. and tired. and depressed. and overworked. did i mention tired? he's so tired.
(6) there are good ways of coping with your problems, and there’s whatever Cal’s chosen.
(7) Cal cautiously gets to know his new crewmates. also, they go on a supply run and he tells BD-1 a story.
(8) what Cal wants is to stay on the couch and wait for the painkillers to kick in so his everything stops aching. what he gets is a distant cry for help in the Force.
(9) a downed Republic ship that may be haunted, a pair of Jedi who may be dead, strange dreams that may mean something, and a local resident who may be missing. -

Cere offered something he didn’t know he wanted until she dangled it in front of him, and he crumbled like a sandcastle even in the face of her remarkably evasive explanation for why she’s no longer a Jedi. He doesn’t trust her yet, but he likes her nonetheless. The Bogano breeze toys with his hair while Cal watches the sunset alongside a little droid who’s been glued to Cal’s side since the moment he fixed BD’s damaged leg. It’s not bad at all. He could get used to this.
Unfortunately, Cal is pretty sure he’s dying.
(Cal bleeds. Cere patches him up. Eventually, he gets to return the favor.)

Cal goes to open the Forest Gate except, well, he may have underestimated these Bedlam Raiders.
“You’re a weird lookin’ prospector,” the jetpack raider comments lightly. “I don’t feel like killin’ you today, I’ve reached my quota. Turn around and go home.” Cal walks closer and stops. Their grip tightens around their staff. “I won’t tell you twice.”
The creepy raider laughs, nudging their companion. “I’ll kill ‘em for you. I ain’t got a quota.”
“I just want to get past,” Cal says, waving his hand to the gate behind them with a swirl of Force and intent twisted around the gesture. “You’ll let me through, right? It’s nothing important.”

Summary
This was a chance to take a break and explore. There's no Imperial presence on this planet.
Technically, that's not a lie.
He runs a hand through his hair and finally calls the Mantis.
“Hey, Cere, I found something. It looks like the entrance to an old Imperial facility. It’s built into the mountain.”
“Interesting that nothing came up on my scans. Is there a landing pad nearby?”
“Nope. Also, there’s no way to get here on foot unless you really, really like climbing.” He pauses. “And jumping. And getting covered in mud.”
“…Cal,” she sighs in exasperation. “I told you to turn back if that happened, and now you’re at an Imperial base.”
“It’s not a base, if that helps.”
“It doesn’t.”
“I got curious,” Cal says with a shrug. Cere mutters something that sounds suspiciously like, I should’ve known. “Can’t get back the same way I came, though. It was a bit tricky getting here in the first place. I’m going to have to go through the facility. Looks pretty abandoned. I’m sure it’s fine.”
“Famous last words!” Greez shouts.

Summary
Obi-Wan decides he’s left the Council hanging long enough and accepts the transmission. The shimmering form of Mace Windu appears between them.
“Good work on Sullust,” he says pleasantly, as a greeting. “I know it’s been a long journey, but the Council has a request for you. We wouldn’t normally ask, but you’re currently the only Jedi we have nearby.”
“Of course,” Obi-Wan says, suppressing an immature groan. “What is it?”
“A child.”
Two years after the events of The Phantom Menace, Obi-Wan and his new apprentice are called to a remote moon to fetch a baby who’s showing signs of a rare, unique power. On their journey home, Obi-Wan reflects on the last child he brought to the Temple and catches a faint glimpse of three possibly entwining futures.

Summary
The ship has seen better days and those days were a long, long time ago. The beat-up craft lowers into its designated spot on the other side of the now-quiet party ship as Greez and Merrin head down the Mantis’s gangway to greet them. Merrin is first across the landing platform, with Greez trailing a bit behind her. She reaches the pair of them and throws her arms around Cal’s neck just as Cere cries out, “Careful—” Cal staggers back with the force of Merrin’s embrace and Cere has to brace his back to keep him on his feet. Merrin pulls back, then embraces Cere with the same enthusiasm. She seems to remember herself after a moment, pulling back and awkwardly refusing to meet their eyes.
Greez watches all this as he catches up, mouth agape. “You look awful,” is the first thing he can think to say.
“Thanks, Greez,” Cal says, with a tired smile. “We missed you too.”
Post-script to the dark ocean duology: Cal and Cere finally, finally return to the Mantis, where Merrin is just happy to see them and Greez has concerns.

Summary
Greez can’t do much but trail Cere, who moves like she knows where she’s going. He’s only really half sure she has any clue, figuring she’s mostly putting on an act so no one questions them. That’s the best way to get into someplace you didn’t belong, just acting like you did, holding your head high and charging forward, and he supposes it works here like it works anywhere else.
They really don’t belong here, in every sense of the word. Greez has never been anywhere he belonged less and it makes his skin crawl if he thinks too much about it.
They really don’t belong here. Everything is out of place, out of order. It’s all already happened. There’s nothing they can do to change it.

Summary
Not long after they meet, while Greez is still adjusting to having a teenaged Jedi and an obnoxious little droid aboard the Mantis, Cal admits he occasionally experiences seizures because of the Force echoes. Greez isn’t exactly thrilled, but whatever. They don’t sound too serious or frequent, so he’ll deal, and it’s kind of nice the kid’s beginning to trust them enough to tell them this stuff, right?
Months later, he discovers (in the worst way possible, of course) Cal might have omitted a few crucial details from that confession.

Summary
After emerging from the Tomb of Miktrull with the knowledge that Cere had lied about the fate of her Padawan, Cal realises his comm isn't working. Blaming Trilla for slicing their comms, he heads back to the Mantis, unaware that a bounty hunter is lying in wait for him. Cal manages to escape, but things only get worse from there.
-
“Well, look what we have here,” she said, drawing the words out.
“Trilla,” he said flatly.
“When I heard the troublesome Padawan had been captured, I expected that news to be followed by a list of casualties. But from what I heard you just... gave up?” She paced slowly outside his cell as she spoke, mirroring the fight they’d had just hours ago.
Cal didn’t dignify that with a response. He hadn’t given up; he just knew when he was outnumbered and outmatched. He stared back at Trilla, keeping his expression carefully neutral despite the fear pooling in his stomach.

Summary
Order 66 goes out. The clone troopers execute their Generals. Jaro Tapal dies in an escape pod and Cal lands on Bracca alone, one of the few surviving Jedi in a galaxy that suddenly wants him dead. Under those circumstances, all he can do is blend in with the scrappers, keep his head down and his eyes open, and try to trust in a Force he can no longer connect with. He shuts his mouth so he never says anything suspicious and then decides perhaps it’s best if he just doesn’t talk at all.
After five years, he’s pretty sure he’s forgotten how.

Summary
Cal coughs, then once he’s caught his breath again, asks, “How did you know this was here?”
Cere keeps her eyes on her work. BD-1 whirrs at her shoulder, gesturing to a likely coupling to fix the breaker. Her hands are shaking, fingers stiff and stinging where the salt water bleeds into small cuts and cracks. Once she’s sure her voice will be steady, she responds, “This is how I escaped. The first time. Five years ago.”
- - -Cal and Cere escape the Fortress with the Holocron, but they do not make it to the surface of the water. Instead, injured, ill, and trailed by the dead, they must find their own way to safety, following a trail Cere laid five years before: a dark, crumbling, abandoned utility tunnel resting at the very bottom of the seafloor.
Underwater, Cere faces a choice.
