Sequel to Snare
Kaeya slowly recovers following his near death experience. But he his haunted by his past and the pain Diluc caused him as he hesitated about where to take their relationship going forward.
Diluc tries his best to fix his past mistakes, but struggles with their slow progress and the strain of losing his Vision.
Their fragile new bond is further strained when criminals suddenly start dying in Mondstadt, and every lead points to the Darknight Hero. The brothers have to find some way to work together and uncover the truth before the noose tighten around Diluc's neck. Unfortunately, Forgiveness is not so easily given and trust is brittle when built on a foundation of lies.A dual timeline story following Kaeya's struggles after Crepus's death (and how Klee became his most precious person.) As well as Diluc and Kaeya trying to mend their relationship following the events of Snare.

“Feels almost like going back in time…” Wistful. Melancholic. Hushed. Said to no one in particular.
“Really now.” Dry yet unexpected (what an honor for Diluc to grace him with his attention)—wide-eyed, Kaeya’s ears perked up in interest.
“Well, I remember clearly—you couldn't stand the sight of me," Kaeya announced like a declaration of war.
And it had the intended effect: a protest wanted to burst forth—or not. Imagination sure loves to run wild. Kaeya had actually no idea what Diluc planned to say, better stop it before all hopes were crumbled to dust.
And so Kaeya lifted his index finger to his lips.
“It’s alright, Master Diluc. I’ve been more than fond of that time. Whenever we met—the way you tried to avoid me… honestly you were quite adorable~” Kaeya offered him a lopsided grin. An embodiment of a paradox: icy glamour burning hotter than flames.

Diluc returned to Mondstadt, and although Kaeya knows better than to get close to this all-consuming fire he simply can’t help himself…

A dismissive grunt followed his accusation, but there was no fluster or even hesitation in the attacker as the claymore was pointed in his direction. There was, however, a tightening of muscles. Kaeya studied him carefully. Tall, but slightly shorter than himself, wearing a dark cloak with a hood that hid the person’s hair and shadowed his face.

Only this time, he comes on behalf of the Abyss Princess with orders to figure out where their operatives keep disappearing to.
