Summary
Techno slammed his fists against the transparent wall of his prison, trying his best to break it down. His captors backed up, whistling anxiously to each other.
He gave the barrier another loud crack, delightedly watching as they scrambled away in abject terror.
Nodding in satisfaction, he turned around to meet the eyes of two other prisoners that had been thrown into his cell.
He froze.
Right.
There were now aliens in his cell.
And he probably just scared the hell out of them.
Or: Humans are a dangerous race feared by all on an intergalactic scale. Techno, a human ex-soldier that was abducted by aliens 18 months ago, is biding his time in captivity.
This changes when two young aliens are sent into his cell to die.

Summary
Gillion Tidestrider was a hero, long ago. An infant given as a sacrifice to the Old Goddess Persana, raised by a community known as the Leviath, a cult that houses a great evil in the trenches of the undersea. He’s escaped, making his way to the seaside city of Hemlock in a fit of terror, uncertain of where to hide.
Chip is the spitting image of his father. After cutting all of his hair short and hiding the scars on his chest, he could forget about his old identity, the little girl who grew up raised by a pirate crew. For now, he’s just a bartender in Hemlock, dreaming of a world where he could return to the sea without terror swallowing him whole.
When Chip stumbles across the former Chosen One after closing hours, he hadn’t expected to get tangled in a possible eldrich threat against the oversea. He hadn’t expected possible answers regarding Ava Ferin’s disappearance years prior. But the Leviath is stopping at nothing to find their escaped Chosen One, even if it means something horrible happening to him.

Chip sighed, a quiet smile on his face. “I know. But I want- I want to be called dad. I want to hold a kid's hand while they drag me around to look at shops and whatnot. I want to tell bedtime stories and tuck them in with a goodnight kiss. I want to hold them and make sure they know they’re loved and shower them in affection. But that’s not- that’s not like me and Ollie. If anything, he’s almost more like a little brother than a son.” He took a deep breath before dropping his eyes to the floor. A part of him almost expected Gillion to laugh and call his wants stupid. Because they were, and Chip knew that.
Instead, Gillion only wrapped his arm tighter around Chip and pressed a kiss to his temple.
