Kaiser had a strange look on his face, but it wasn't half as strange as his reply once he caught up to Isagi, "Glad to see that you've finally stopped staring at my thighs and decided to play ball for real."
Isagi gaped and nearly tripped over Kaiser's foot when Kaiser turned. "I— I wasn't looking at your thighs!" Shit, he should have mocked Kaiser about his pompous assumption that Isagi would ever want to look at his thighs. They were stupid and generic and nothing special, right?

Summary
He traced a circle on the snow, and a second, smaller one inside it. It would have been nice to dig out his old spellbook for the occasion, but Ness didn’t want to push his luck too much. Besides, though it had been years, he still remembered the runes and their significance. He inscribed them carefully in the gap between the concentric circles until he had filled the space with the same summoning spell he had attempted when he was a child.
Now, all he needed to do was visualise the magical creature he wanted to bring to him. He was spoiled for choice, really, when there was an abundance of magical creatures he wanted to meet. Any one of them would do, he really wasn’t picky.
All he could imagine was choppy blond and blue hair, red and black and blue tattoos, blue roses—
Oh, who was he kidding? Kaiser was about the only thing he could think about.

As far as Isagi knew, it had all started the moment he had dashed through the doors in Ego’s wake, the day he had been invited to Blue Lock. More specifically, it had been upon entering that first room where they had played tag. No, that wasn’t it either. It was when he had reflexively received the ball Bachira had passed to him, before kicking it straight into Kira’s face, ending his football dreams in one decisive move.
The flickering had started then, like an itch behind his eyes. It quickly built to a burning sensation seeping from the top of his head, down his throat, down his spine, coiling in his chest, before pooling in the pit of his stomach. It was then that he had noticed a small, blinking speck right in front of him. He had rubbed his eyes, but the speck had grown even brighter when he opened his eyes again. What was that?
As if his thoughts had triggered it, the speck had expanded and… disappeared. In its place, a ghostly grey puzzle piece hovered, with what was unmistakably Kira’s name scribbled on it in a messy hand.

They were at a stoplight, so Kaiser could give Isagi the most contemptuous look ever known to man and make him feel like a bug. “Are you fucking crazy?”
So, they were actual, genuine idiots. At least, Kaiser was. Isagi slumped in his seat and stared at the back of Kaiser’s head, plotting. He had to get them to realise what was happening so he could be put out of his misery. Besides, puzzles were fun and Isagi felt kind of embarrassed about their awful obliviousness.

Summary
Sometimes, it was both simple and complicated, as it invariably was when it concerned a person’s life. Understandably, the average person could be forgiven for balking at the prospect of murdering one person, even if it was to safeguard that of several billion. The fact that a person like that was akin to a free radical was not common knowledge nor could it be, after all.
But Isagi was not one of them and he knew what was truly at stake. When he received an assignment, he carried it out with precision and alacrity, and with minimal bias.
Michael Kaiser, predictably, simply had to be the exception.

“What the fuck are you doing here, Yoichi?” Kaiser hesitated on the threshold of his hotel room, torn between stomping inside and turning right around so he didn’t have to deal with whatever the hell this was.
Yoichi grinned at him, a wicked spark in his eyes. He darted forward before Kaiser could ask him how he’d broken into his room and grabbed him by the hand, yanking him inside. Kaiser, of course, dug his heels in, resisting upon principle, if not on instinct. That was when another Yoichi poked his head around the corner, saw what was going on, and took Kaiser’s other hand to haul him in the rest of the way.
The door slammed behind him and the lock engaged. Right away, the air seemed to change.
“What the hell is this?”
In his hour of greatest need, Kaiser returns to his hotel room after a match to find not one, but two Yoichis. (His Yoichi, a third one, is somewhere.)

“You obviously don’t!” The boy grabbed a fistful of the front of Ness’ shirt and jerked him closer. “You used to call me Yoichi. You said we’d be friends forever. I steered fate away for you, you know?”
Ness lost something, but he will reclaim it with a little help from two otherworldly menaces.
