Summary
Perhaps the most infuriating thing of all was realizing what it was.
The glances she found herself stealing, the warmth in her cheeks that’d spread down to her chest and into the center of her stomach- all led to the horrifying realization that, yes, it was, in fact, exactly what she’d been expecting.
Things she hadn’t noticed before were all around fascinating now in ways they hadn’t been before. It got to a point where she was convinced it was the work of some nefarious villain (her mental corkboard had yarn wrapped accusingly towards Poison Ivy).
Imagine her surprise then, when the days passed and the feeling in her sternum would *still* squeeze from so much as a glance.
Seeing as how she’d drown in her own personal soliloquies, waxing poetry about his every being, the assumption had been that it was merely a fad- a *phase*, even- and that she’d be over it in t-minus two weeks, *IF THAT*.
If she had to give an estimate on when the disease had even begun to bury itself within the recesses of all she that had blackened to the pit, she would have to stand before you with her head hung and her hands back in surrender.
It was impossible to pinpoint.

Summary
“Are you excited for your first time?” She asks, her eyes shimmering with joy, and, caught off guard by Amy’s choice of phrase, Blaze almost stumbles out of her chair in panic.
Quick to save her blunder, she acts fast, passing it off as an attempt to get more comfortable in her seat, and scooting in closer to appear more attentive. “I suppose…”
A stray card almost slides out of the deck as Amy shuffles until she swipes back in with a practiced hand. While she continues her mix, she slows her pace to regard her purple companion with an astute eye. “Are you nervous?”
Blaze stiffens under her observant gaze, the beginnings of an embarrassed simmer beneath her skin reminding her to take a moment and gather the right words.
“A little.” She finally admits, running smoky hands over the skirt of her dress, smoothing out non-existent wrinkles. “I’ve never had my fortune read before. And worried to learn what my future may hold.”

Amy Rose lay crumpled on the broken ground. Wilted, you could say. Her head was turned to the side, her quills obscuring her face. Her limbs sprawled out, except her right arm which was trapped underneath her. Her left arm twisted out in an unnatural manner. She very well could have been sleeping. Why she would go into slumber during a battle was beyond Metal. Amy Rose had always been in the action in previous encounters.
A miniscule layer of dust settled on her. Still, she did not wake.
Odd.
