The young man stared at him, shocked.
"You... don't you remember me?" he asked, finding it simply inconceivable.
And Lance, in other circumstances, would have been amused by that reaction, but there was a little girl he had to bring back to her mother; he hadn't slept for almost twenty-seven hours and needed a break.
"No, dude, now if you want to excuse me..."
The boy turned Lance to him, their faces a short distance away, purple eyes fixed on his, and Lance's treacherous heart skipped a beat.
"Blue Spirit, I'm Red Warrior. Do you really not remember me?"
At that point, Lance began to break out in a cold sweat. Of course, he couldn't remember him. Lance wasn't the real one.
(In which, due to a stupid stunt, the seventeen-year-old Lance dies and finds himself in the body of a villain of his best friend's favourite graphic novel, trying not to attract too much attention. Too bad for Lance, Keith doesn't make things easy for him at all.)

Lance felt like he could explode, like he was a bomb and his fuse was nearly burned through. There were so many problems that they needed to focus on. Lotor had seen him in the alternate reality. He’d known what to say to fuck with him. Keith had kissed him and left. Shiro was being… mind-controlled or something. Lance had piloted the fucking Black Lion and now Red was gone, too.
And his friends were all staring at him like he was a monster.

Lance made it back to his own reality. He was home. Unfortunately, things don't go back to normal like he had hoped and he struggles to connect with team Voltron. Worse still, he finds himself at the center of a mysterious Galra conspiracy.

They felt far away and he wanted to tell them not to worry, his eyes sluggishly attempting to convey what his clenched jaw couldn’t, but before he could do much of anything, Lance’s view of the desolation Voltron had wrought, of the new Galra fleet, of his fellow Voltron lions, of the giant druid ship with its offensively shaped canon, all faded to darkest black.

Voltron is falling apart. Keith has left, Shiro’s acting weird, and Red is shunning Lance. Just when he thought things couldn’t get worse, they did. Lance gets zapped far away to an alternate reality where he struggles to find his footing. He needs to find his way back to the team, fast, and maybe he’ll find himself along the way. Despite his aversion to cliches, he just can't seem to steer clear of them.

Summary
I had a random thought last year that Yosuke really fit Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice and then decided to rewatch the the movie and BBC series...and pretty much came up with this idea. I also wrote a version of it for Souyowrimo and did have some people show interest so here is the reworked first chapter. I will be keeping some ideas from the Souyowrimo version but will be adjusting a few things to fit with what I have going on for the multichapter. Hopefully you enjoy!

Keith sighs as he leans against the window frame. The cup of coffee Lance made him has grown cold, and though he hates the bitter taste, he finds himself taking another sip anyway. It feels strangely right to do so, watching the storm. The two just go together in a way Keith can’t explain.
“You like the rain?”
He glances over his shoulder and looks at Lance. Keith hums before turning back to the view. The streets are empty, with only a few pedestrians strolling the sidewalks holding either an umbrella or their coats tugged over their heads. The light hitting the wet asphalt makes the roads glitter, but the storm clouds are heavy, even in this room.
“It’s nice to see. There’s a lot more up here than there was in the desert.”
“Deserts tend to be dry.”
“Don’t I know it.”

Keith’s throat is dry as he prays that maybe that brave boy will come out once again, that same boy that said, ‘you can come back tomorrow’ and looked at Lance as if he was a bursting star in the dark of the night. Keith wants to ask, do you remember? or even more important, do you forgive me?
Or, Keith and Lance almost fall in love at the garrison. Keith forgets and the rest is history, the rest is Voltron until Keith is standing in the garrison halls years later and he remembers.

Summary
Three years after the fall of the Galra Empire, Lance McClain—up-and-coming solo artist and former Paladin of Voltron—accidentally posts a breakup song on Valentine's day. Instead of removing it, Lance starts posting more covers of love songs, all ostensibly for "You", the mysterious character who had broken Lance's heart.
What the galaxy doesn't know is that "You" is just as in love with Lance as Lance is with him.
Or, Lance sings breakup songs and posts them online to cope with the heartbreak of Keith leaving him again for the Blade. Keith is guilty, and also very much in love.
