He takes Tony because he can. He takes him because he’s the Captain who holds Brooklyn and Manhattan and half of Queens. He takes him because Howard has been getting uppity and needs to be taught a lesson, needs to be reminded that he works for Steve, despite all his money. He takes him because there’s a cold, cruel light in Howard’s eyes when he looks at his son, and Steve understands “tough” love better than anyone would expect him to. He has a million reasons as to why he takes Tony, but the truth of the matter comes down to this:
He takes Tony because the first time he saw him, Steve knew he was meant to be his.

Summary
Fanfic of another fanfic, heavily inspired by "Operation: I am Human" by StandingBi.
The Justice League believes Batman is a cryptid due to his tendency to use bird calls, hisses and grunts rather than words, odd mannerisms and other pieces of evidence that don't help Bruce's case. He struggles to clear the misunderstanding and continues making poor social decisions, which only fuels the fire.
Chap 1: Hal gets the crazy idea to flash a laser pointing during a Justice League meeting. Bruce believes a sniper has somehow broken into headquarters, and chases after the laser. Everyone gravely misinterprets the situation, believing it to be some sort of instinctual urge. It spirals into something comedic, and entirely avoidable.
+ Various instances of the JL charting Bruce’s poor social skills to an animalistic instinct.
