“Say hi to daddy, moyo lapochka,” Ilya said gently and then moved closer, meeting Shane halfway until there was no space between them.
“Hi, daddy,” Leo parroted in his sweet little voice. Only two years old and he could actually do that in four different languages. He knew more Japanese than Shane.
The second Shane touched his small back, feeling his chest rise and fall beneath Ilya’s arms, his heart felt whole again.
Or a short and sweet one where Shane and Ilya come home to their son.

Summary
Ilya’s smoking in the parking lot in Tampa when he realizes. Last time he and Shane spoke on the phone he didn’t say ‘I love you’ back. Shane had said it, and he had made a stupid fucking joke.
If he had died today, if the plane had crashed, he wouldn’t have gotten the chance to tell Shane he loves him one last time.
It sits wrong in his chest. It’s not guilt, at least not completely. It’s something sharper, like something is out of place, or unfinished.

“Anyway,” Zoro continued amid Sanji’s silence, “I’m not going to die.”
Sanji made a scoffing sound. “You can’t just decide that, asshole,” he said, tying off the thread. He trailed his fingertips over the jagged seam, checking for any imperfections. “You can’t cheat death.”
“We’ll see.”
To Sanji, Zoro is an enigma. An infuriating one, but one he is drawn to nonetheless. For as much self-assurance Zoro appears to have, Sanji has about as much self-doubt. If he can just understand what goes on inside that mossy head of his, maybe he can figure a few things out about himself as well.
Discovering that there might be something other than rivalry brewing between them, is something Sanji isn't quite prepared for.
