Summary
In the tail end of the Taisho Era, Hiiro has just realized that Jyugo's powers as the Empty Togabito means more than just him being a soulless husk. With the final clash between demons and Demon Slayers underway, Mashiro sends Hiiro, Jyugo, and Tsu-in into the Infinity Castle to gather their last samples.
During the battle, Jyugo wanders away and is found by Tanjirou. At the same time, Tsu-in inadvertently helps Giyuu defeat Akaza and wrangles herself and Hiiro into assisting the Demon Slayers, who have had no experience with Togabito before this.

Tim Drake is a solitary creature, whether by necessity or by natural predisposition. But he’s good at being alone. He’s learned to enjoy his own company, to take solace in his own cognizance. Aided by the brisk air of Gotham’s night air and a thrilling sense of independence, Tim learns that some things feel more special when you get to keep them for yourself. Unaccompanied walks down the school halls and singular movie tickets and dinners-for-one aren’t so bad when he can entertain himself with his own thoughts.
Tim has become so good at being alone, he can almost pretend he isn’t desperate for the unconditional love and companionship that a soulmate would guarantee.
It would be nice, Tim thinks, to have someone in his life who actually wants him. Someone who won’t leave every chance they get. Someone who enjoys his presence instead of merely tolerating it. Someone for whom he isn’t an obligation.
Still his wrist remains blank.
Until it doesn't.

“Don’t worry, Kon,” Tim said, without putting an ounce of forethought into it. “I’ll scare them off for you.”
Or, Tim pretends to be Conner's boyfriend, just to help him avoid unwanted attention. Because that's what friends do. Pretend to be romantically involved even though they are definitely not interested in each other in that way and it would totally never happen. Definitely.

Even with his busy schedule of juggling Batman's responsibilities and being WE’s CEO, Bruce still managed to spend more time with Tim than his parents ever had. Dick came to visit every weekend, taking Tim on fun outings across the city. He and Steph would hang out in the den after school on weekdays. He and Cass would spend quiet afternoons reading in the library while she practiced on the grand piano in the corner. He could always count on Alferd’s subtle presence in the manor, diligently cleaning or preparing a home-cooked meal. Tim was never alone there; it was a bit overwhelming at first, but it was nice.
Tim should have remembered that good things never last.
