Kentarou was aware he had feelings for Yahaba. He’d have to be an idiot to not notice by now. That, or really stubborn, but even then, there were only so many times you can pretend you're staring at your setter because you don’t want to miss the toss he’s sending your way, and not because of how concentrated he looks when he’s setting, and how it looks so similar to the look he pointed at you when he shoved you against the wall all those months ago.

“My feet are so tired,” Yahaba whined, stretching the word ‘tired’ to emphasize. Lifting his head and glaring at Kentarou, Yahaba spoke again, “we should take a break, definitely.” before closing his eyes and dropping his head back onto his bed.
“We just got here,” Kentaoru grinned, something he tended to do more now, bringing his bag and setting it on the ground next to Yahaba’s. “And I’m pretty sure you’re only supposed to take breaks once you’ve actually started something.” Kentarou walked closer,s o he was standing next to Yahaba’s head, looking down at him, more specifically his closed eyes. Even more specifically, his eyelashes that were too long to be real dammit.
“You're no fun Kyoutani,” Yahaba laughed, his eyes crinkling open to look at him, but the rest of what he said was drowned out by the blood rushing to Kentaou’s face and head.
Yahaba had said his name plenty of times before, but standing here, looking down at Yahaba, with his eyes squirting up at him, a smile so bright it could light up the world, and domestic happiness and trusting painted in the way he laid in front of Kentarou, he was struck by how desperately and wholly in love he was. -

It all started with a mass email to everyone who had been one Aoba Johsai’s volleyball team in Shigeru’s second year. The email was from his old captain, Oikawa Tooru, asking everyone if they wanted to have a little reunion party, since he would be leaving Argentina to visit, and wanted to see them all. Shigeru clicked on recipients, and went down the line, trying to see who all had received an email from their captain. True enough, he could see everyone who had been on the team listed there. He had missed his friends, and if he was honest he could stand to contact them more, so with a small smile, Shigeru closed the laptop and headed to the kitchen where he could hear his husband and daughter making lunches.

Mohan looks back at Robby. “I swear his BP has been in the normal range with his pulse at eighty-five during most of my assessment.”
“Order a CT,” Robby says.
“I don’t need…”
He trails off when he gives Whitaker a stern look that makes his stomach flip. Yessir.
He risks a glance at his monitor, seeing the number rise again, and oh. Oh. Oh no.

How much of what he’s felt since they were wedged side-to-side in a shitty wooden boat on the East Blue has actually mattered, and how much has been the universe pressing him down into the mold of someone else's heart.
And then Luffy is gripping his horns, bringing his forehead down to meet his, repeating, “Zoro? Zoro?” like his name is a mantra, like he’s gone somewhere far away and gotten lost on his way back.
And Zoro blinks at him, then, and sees both of them at once—both of them—and he grips Luffy’s face in his own hands (claws) and presses his lips (violent, full of teeth) against his. Because this is who he has been waiting a thousand years for, the brightest and most beautiful of them all, the one thing he could never have—could never see, not if (Luffy, Joyboy, Nika) had made different (worse) choices—the thing that could never thrive in the darkness, just like he could never (has been unable to for centuries) survive without it—
