Summary
It's a tradition to burn down a Woodland Mansion at every start of a season. Only this time it's not only inhabited by mindless mobs. There is actually an uncorrupted Player Allay there.
Scar and Cub don't really know how to feel about Grian when they help to rescue him. If they'd come just a few weeks later Grian would have become a Vex. And the reminder of what they lost confronts them with feelings they would have liked to forget.
Grian, on the other hand, really just wants to enjoy his newfound freedom and do what Allays are supposed to do - gathering things and causing mischief. Which is hard to do when you’ve been dropped into a foreign world and have no clue where your former crew has ended up. Not to mention the two very intriguing Vex, who give off very mixed signals. Not that Grian is any better at communication.

Tommy blinked. Gradually, the corners of his mouth dropped into the deepest frown he’d ever made. “What the fuck? Why?”
“Why?” Icarus froze and Tommy raised a judgemental eyebrow. “It’s because of your powers.”
“My powers,” he echoed. “I never told you whether or not I had powers.”
“I can… sense them,” Icarus bullshitted. Tommy pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Right. What are they, then,” he retorted.
“Uh… super… powers,” the villain answered, sounding more unsure of himself by the second.
Tommy wanted to bash his head against a wall. “Really? That’s the best you could do?”

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

“Positive,” Grian said. He leaned into the couch cushions, his countenance changing with the wave of a hand. His face relaxed, his legs crossed in front of him, and a wide smile split his lips. “You’ll pay for what you’ve done in due time.”

Out of all the villain and hero nemesis relationships out there, the opposing themes idea was very popular. Demon villains fighting heroes with an angel theme, or villains and heroes who's powers were opposites such as fire and water. But none were quite as infamous as Paradise and Krampus.
The Halloween Hero, and The Christmas Villain.
It was also very well known that these two despised each other. And that Paradise harassed Krampus just as much as Krampus annoyed his hero counterpart.
But on a quiet night, around the tail end of November, a truce is struck between the two that nobody else is aware of.
All because of a challenge between them. A bet.

And other times of the year fWhip would crash those little parties and terrify local elites. But not Christmas. Not that he celebrated so hard. A little feast for just him and a good movie. A few days to relax and refresh his brain before another year of evil and mischief. Everyone knew not to interrupt him during this time.

Xisuma was the head of Over-City Relations with the Under-City Labs. What exactly did that mean? Well, a few things.
Mainly, he received and categorized orders from various different clans, levels, pyres, and other groups of what-have-you. Orders for what? Supplies from the over-city, of course. And from who? A rather eccentric man indeed. Keralis flirted the same as he breathed, to the point that it had become a running gag amongst himself, Xisuma, and XB, the burly fish hybrid who also helped run over-city relations. It had been this way for years. Xisuma was fine with that. They'd hardline negotiate over prices for vital supplies one moment, and then the next Keralis would lay out some smooth words, blink up at him with huge brown eyes through dark lashes, longish hair always plaited neatly to the sides, ponytail a bit askew from the railcart ride down...and Xisuma would feel like crumbling. Because there was nothing here, not really. After all, Keralis had never even seen his face.{In which Xisuma questions his line of employment, Keralis questions his flirting techniques, and XB thinks it'll either go well, or he'll make 50 bucks. Win-Win}
