Aziraphale, exhausted with his duties of Supreme Archangel, decides leaving isn't freedom enough for him. Maybe if he faces his fears and follows in Crowley's steps, he might be able to secure freedom and stay with him. That is, if Crowley will ever forgive him for the last time they saw one another.

“Fuck off,” he hisses out, words slurring together. “In case you missed it, ‘m not in the mood to be bothered.”
A pause. Then, the knocking becomes frantic, bordering desperate.
With another swear, Crowley slides off the bed, wobbling a bit as he gains his footing. Whoever the poor bugger is at the other side of this door is about to have nightmares for the rest of their life, interrupting his well-deserved brooding like this. A few bottles roll along the flooring and, with one final stumble, he reaches for his door handle, throwing it open.
”What —“
Crowley freezes. Any further demands vanish from his tongue, mouth hanging open, golden eyes wide and exposed.
“Crowley.”
Oh, that voice. It’s been only a year, nothing compared to their collective lifetimes, yet it had felt so long since he’d heard it.
