Summary
Why would the local legend of tropical Cinnabar center around a pokémon that lived on an icy mountain, anyway? It couldn’t be true, just didn’t make sense, and Red refused to write anything like that in his pokédex. His frustration only grew as trainers parroted variations of the same story at him over and over. By the time he found himself landing ashore at Cinnabar Island, he was almost entirely fed up with the whole endeavor.
Well, maybe he could stomach asking one more person.
Because there was Blue, posture slouched and lazy, just glancing around outside the pokémon center, loitering like he had nothing better to do.

Summary
Everything is normal, per se. Of course it is - they have their established routine and everything and Red did have to tweak around his own normal Living On Top Of A Mountain Alone schedule to accommodate Green's town-boy needs but there's no big substantial change to anything. Red still gets up at the crack of dawn to go train with his Pokémon. Green sleeps in and reads and fetters after Red. They battle, sometimes. They eat. They take a flight down every so often to get some things needed for the most basic survival, and Green still asks him unnecessary questions.
He thinks he's getting more frustrated as time goes on.

When their plane finally touches down in Alola, the first thing that catches Green's attention isn't the view, though that certainly is spectacular. It's the crowd of reporters and paparazzi outside the airport eagerly awaiting their arrival, hungry for just a glimpse of the Kanto champions. Maybe an interview or even a single question answered, if they're lucky.Years ago, Green would have been thrilled to take advantage of the photo op and spin the media circus to his advantage. He thrived in the spotlight.
Now, though, he has Red sitting next to him. Red, who disappeared for the better part of a decade due to the stress the publicity caused him. Red, who's seeing the same thing as Green and is tensing up, his hand seeking the comfort of his partner's.
"I know, I know," Green mutters. "They're not supposed to be here."
