A single soft-spoken sentence had no right to make Shu’s heart ache as much as it did then. Silly, sweet boy. I should be asking you that. Before he replied properly, he coughed into his elbow in a pitiful attempt to rid himself of his perverse tenderness, wondering if this was the same soreness Mika spoke of when he first moved away.
“Put your coat back on, then. We ought to hurry back before it turns dark.”

As if to prove him wrong, there's a scuff of shoes from somewhere in front of him and Mika lifts his head without really meaning to, peeking through his hair to see who found him. He's expecting an adult from the orphanage, or maybe one of the other kids, following him after they caught him sneaking out.
Instead, he sees light.
Someone he has never seen before, a boy like him, stands in front of him, dressed in fancy, flowy clothes that Mika has only ever seen in storybooks until now.
Ever since their first miraculous meeting, Mika dreams of Shu, and he never stops.

Mika feels threatened by the fact Leo often visits Shu in Paris, leaving them free to do as many indecent things as they want. Spurred on by jealousy, and somehow dragging Izumi into the mess, Mika resolves to explain to Shu how insecure he is.
He has no way of guessing how the evening will go- definitely unsuspecting of the fact that he might end up feeling pretty satisfied with the outcome.

Hiyori whines again but accepts the bottle of water he’s handed. “I’m not even drunk,” he insists. He twists the cap off of his water and brings it up to his mouth, and promptly spills it down the front of his shirt.
“You were saying?” Jun says, raising his eyebrows.
“It’s cold,” Hiyori wails. “Jun-kun, fix it!”
If this is as bad as it gets, Jun can handle it. He’s certainly handled a whiny Hiyori too many times to count, so really, this is no different. But he can’t help but be hyper aware, waiting for any changes in Hiyori’s behavior. Waiting for something to go wrong.
