The hate gets suffocating after a time, threatens to choke her between the silks of her bed and let the meat from her bones rot until she is unrecognizable. Hating the Queen has made Rhaenyra into a different person, more dragon than girl, her skin turning from satin to scales. Hating her half-brother has made her into a tyrant, willing to kill a babe if it meant the threat of disinheritance would disappear.
But hating the Queen’s brother, it has made her so much worse.

We'll be following along with the Saurondriel Kinktober 2025 prompts, where each day will feature another challenge that Galadriel and Sauron must face in order to keep Morgoth from rising again. Think Dagor Dagorath between two of the most powerful Middle-earth beings, in a teeny tiny living space.
I'll be updating the tags with each new addition! We start off in canon, but Melkor built this chessboard, and it takes a few unexpected turns.

A Man and an Elf; an unlikely pairing that brings with it judgemental eyes and inevitable tragedy. Galadriel knows this, and even still she cannot resist the cosmic bond she shares with Halbrand of the Southlands, the human with a mysterious past who saved her life. Nor can Halbrand resist the connection he shares with this unruly Elf. They are alone, cast out for their past actions, and tempted by both desire and darkness that consumes them. In her, he sees an opportunity for redemption and in him, she finds an unlikely sense of belonging. While evil forces work in the shadows to destroy that which they hold dear in Middle Earth, will their bond lead to salvation or result in their doom?
This is my take on a Second Age story in which Halbrand was just a mortal man after all, written for those who miss Human Halbrand as much as I do.
