“Who the fuck did this?” Jack roared, his voice cracking like a whip through the ER.
Nurses froze. A tech stopped mid-step. Even Dana, fearless on her worst days, halted in her tracks.
Trinity stumbled under Dennis’s weight, panic flooding her features. “Fuck—Dr. Abbot…” she breathed.
Jack didn’t wait.
He closed the distance in two strides and grabbed Dennis, hands sliding to both sides of the kid’s waist, hauling him off Trinity and straight into his chest. Dennis sagged instantly, collapsing against Jack like his bones had given up.
Jack’s jaw clenched so tight the muscle jumped. His eyes were pure, murderous fire.
Or where student doctor Dennis Whitaker loses a 6 year old patients and comes back to the Er bloody and supported by Trinity Santos. His two attendings who have been trying to get the student into their bed for weeks now, dont really take it well.

“Whitaker, you need to sit down. You have a concussion.” The voice next to him tries to tell him, and it's almost familiar this time.
“Yeah I realized that, I am a fuckin' doctor. Student doctor. Whatever.” he replies, turning to squint at the man sitting next to him. “Look, can you just get Dr. Robby? He’ll tell you I'm fine, I gotta get back to work, I got… patients and shit.”
The man looks at someone behind him, some expression he can’t quite figure out. He starts to say something else, and—oh shit he’s gonna throw up fuck—he tries to lean away and not vomit all over anyone else. He doesn't quite make it.
“Shit,” yeah, he definitely ruined that guy’s shoes. Whoops. “Sorry.”

Eddie laughs, and it’s electric, not the soft, gentle thing that lights up Buck’s insides, but something charged like a trip wire. “You said dreaming about living the same day, that’s a time loop.”
“No,” Buck says. “I said dreaming something that happens the next day.”
Eddie groans. “It doesn’t matter. I just knew where you were gonna go with it, and-and yeah, I’ve had weird dreams before. You probably just need a little more sleep – didn’t you say you’d been having trouble?”
This is not what he needed. Usually, Eddie would ask a few calming, leading questions, and get him somewhere more stable, but this… it’s like Eddie’s ten steps ahead of him and Buck doesn’t know how to catch up.

“You on Wikipedia or Reddit?” Eddie asked and Buck guiltily dropped his phone into his lap. “Sorry, you’re right. Can you go back?”
Eddie shook his head. “No, come on. I want to know what got you so distracted you would break your promise to me.”
Guilt flooded Buck’s body, settling in his stomach like a boulder. Eddie was right. Buck had a terrible habit of getting distracted and missing half the movie by falling into a web search. Sometimes he recognized a voice and fell down that rabbit hole. Other times, he had to know something right that second and that also normally became an elaborate web search. And Buck had promised to stay off his phone during movies. Although after the first two failures and the ensuing sex, they had renegotiated to just being when Eddie was showing Buck an old animated movie that was essential to his childhood. Especially if Buck had never seen it before. Which was coincidentally becoming most of what they watched. And that included tonight’s pick of Dumbo.
