Summary
An unsure hand grasps his and Eddie steps over the threshold, eyes closed at first as he takes his place next to Steve. A boat glides down the Chicago River beneath pink and purple skies— an abstract impressionist painting stretching for miles in every direction.
Steve squeezes Eddie’s hand, a gentle pulse, and he opens his eyes. A sharp inhale of breath, and Steve’s hand becomes an anchor that Eddie seems to latch onto. He laces his fingers through Eddie’s for a better grip and runs his thumb up and down the edge of Eddie’s hand, slow and rhythmic.
“See?” Steve hedges, nodding out at the view. “Not so bad, huh?”
Eddie nods and turns his head, an unreadable something behind his expression. “Yeah, it’s not bad at all.”
Or, When Robin ends up stuck with summer classes her first year at college, Steve's road trip plans look dead in the water. Enter Eddie Munson, who loves a good road trip.

“Yeah, yeah, sure,” Eddie says, and at least he’s smiling now.

Summary
Eddie Munson isn't a very good vampire. He doesn't like to hunt and has never bitten a human in the couple of years since being turned. The problem is that animal blood can only sustain him for so long.
Chicago, Illinois, 1993. Eddie follows the recommendation of another vampire to visit a 'donor,' a human who lets vampires feed off them for a living. What he's not expecting is for said donor to be a ghost from high school past in the shape of Steve Harrington.
"The price is $50 per bite," Steve explained with what sounded like a well-practiced spiel. "That's teeth breaking skin. You choose where you want to bite, but if it's below the belt I'm charging an extra $20 per bite." He paused for a moment, leveling a scrutinizing gaze on Eddie until the vampire nodded his understanding.
Steve's eyebrows lifted. "I'm going to need verbal confirmation, please."
And oh, that tone did something for Eddie. He'd probably be blushing if he had enough blood in his system to reach the right places. As it was, he hadn't had a proper meal in weeks. So he was definitely lacking a human-like complexion.

Summary
Eddie had started walking to Robin’s house in the mornings to hitch a ride when Steve took her to school on his way to Family Video. It was a neat little route from Steve’s place to Robin’s to the high school to the store, and Robin lived halfway between Eddie’s place and the school, so the ride cut his journey in half. Steve wanted to offer to pick Eddie up from his place but, unlike the rest of the carpool arrangement, it didn’t make sense, spatially, and Eddie said he didn’t mind the walk, and Steve was too embarrassed to insist.

Summary
If you told Steve a year ago that Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson would become a regular at the Harrington household during the summer of ‘86, he would’ve told you that’d be impossible. But that’s just how things go in Hawkins. The impossible never actually seems to manage being impossible. Exhibit A: Eddie ‘the freak’ Munson is now officially one of the gang, and truthfully Steve’s still trying to figure out how he feels about that. And he doesn’t seem to be alone in his ambivalence. Eddie meshes well with almost everyone else in the group, but he still doesn’t seem to know what to make of Steve, which—well, it’s not like Steve’s feelings are hurt, per say, but it certainly doesn’t help the awkward tension he feels whenever they accidentally find themselves alone in a room together.
---Eddie confuses Steve. Steve frustrates Eddie. They're complete opposites, which is why they're finding it so hard to navigate the tentative friendship between them, right? Right. It definitely doesn't have anything to do with the way Steve can't seem to stop staring at Eddie or the way Eddie's foot seems to find its way into his mouth every time he talks to Steve. Nope. That's definitely not the issue.

Summary
Eddie really needs this job. And he could do what normal teenagers looking for summer jobs do and just send out a resume to every shop in the Mall until one of them got back in touch, but Eddie doesn’t want to work just anywhere. The news that he has to go back to high school, again, is completely fucking soul crushing. If he’s going to have to spend the next year back at Hawkins High, he at least wants to have a decent summer. Getting a job somewhere he’ll actually be useful, somewhere he might actually enjoy working? It’s a very small consolation for the rest of the shit he has to put up with.
