Summary
I got bored because none of the stories for my current hyper-fixations are updating fast enough to meet my brain’s demand so I started a new hyper fixation and wrote it.
—————Skala understood things like joy and love in theory. They also understood that their brain simply was not capable of processing or feeling those sorts of emotions. Demons were simply not meant to know love. They were meant to fight, devour, and only respected strength.
So why was Skala always so jealous of the smiles humans wore so readily, of the spark in their eyes when they protected people they cared about, rather than their skill with a blade or the size of their aura?
Frieren, meanwhile, is absolutely certain this demon is hiding a malicious master plan of some sort. She will not make the same mistake so many others before her have— she just needs the right moment to kill it. Last week wasn’t the right opening. Or the previous week. Or that one time they had tea together. And it would have been disastrous to kill it when it was giving Fern a haircut.
She just needed to be patient and wait for the demon’s mask to slip.
