If Phil were a little less ... impressed by the emperor, he might actually be insulted by the choice of training partners he was issued. Certainly he’s slighter than he used to be, and his limbs don’t have decades of battle etched into them the way his mind still thinks they do - but he’d stayed wiry all his life, and the training sword they’d lent him was a well-balanced thing, and no self-respecting warrior would be caught so off-guard that they’d let the fucking interns of this army take that blade from them.
Techno doesn't want to be into his new husband. The guy was doubtless forced into this marriage, after all, and why the hell would the prince of a neighbouring kingdom want him? (No matter the way he fights - like a man twenty years older and wiser, with eyes shaped by war. No matter the way he looks at Techno, like he wants him too.)
Phil, sent twenty years back in time to the moment he decided not to marry the Antarctic Emperor, has made a different choice in this second lease of life. It would be nice, however, if his (hot, unfairly attractive) husband would stop treating him like a breakable twenty-year-old for five minutes.

Atleast, until Techno froze and shot up, slamming his book shut with enough force that the noise that resulted echoed throughout the room. He ran to the windows, eyes looking at something in the distance.
“What is it?” Tommy’s voice wavered, his anxiety skyrocketing at whatever had riled up the immortal.
“We have a guest.” His words were short and sharp like a knife. “I will handle it. Do not leave the house.” His voice left no room for discussion as he made his way to the door, not even bothering to grab a sword. He glanced back at Tommy for a second, sending him a reassuring stare. “I’ll be back. I promise.”
