Summary
When infamous pirate captain Dazai Osamu sails the Stray Less Dogs straight into the deadly mists of Siren’s Veil, he expects blood, shipwrecks, maybe a song or two. What he doesn't expect is the crimson-haired, sharp-tongued siren who tries to drown him and fails, thanks to Dazai’s suicidal impulse to flirt with death itself. Literally.
Now stranded on a deserted island with the very creature meant to kill him, Dazai finds himself tangled in something far more dangerous than the ocean: banter, claws, secrets, and an infuriating tail. Chuuya doesn’t know why he saved the pirate. Dazai doesn’t know why he can’t stop smiling.
One wants answers. The other wants entertainment. Neither of them plans on falling in love.

Chuuya doesn’t get to finish. His eyes meet Dazai’s, and he is immediately hypnotised by the uncovered eye’s uncharacteristic shine. Its enthusiastic spark brings so much life to Dazai’s face that it’s contagious, and as a cherry on top, the colour of his irises perfectly matches the chestnut’s, the usual dull colour turned into a rich hue of brown Chuuya’s never seen before.
On second thought, collecting chestnuts doesn’t look like such a lame idea.

He's gone. Even though Wilbur Soot was always ashes and dust, now there's properly only memories to suffice as a stand in.
It's not like Wilbur and him could've ever been friends or anything of the sort. But some stupid, nostalgic part of him wished for a better ending for the two of them.
Is that really what anyone wants though?

Though maybe some people just don’t get them. For example, Tubbo has never told him that he has one. Though it’s possible it’s a sensitive subject.
Ranboo investigates soulmates on the Dream SMP, and finds his way into helping a couple of lost soulmates repair their friendship.

Charlie’s whole face lights up as it looks at the hand, then up at Quackity, then back at Wilbur.
Quackity watches with something like dawning horror as Wilbur Soot daps him up.

But, through a tangled web of corrupt police chiefs, blackmail, and an unaccounted murder, the new bosses of each group, Quackity and Wilbur, are forced to work together to keep both of their respective mobs out of prison. And hey, why not throw a wager in there as well?
