Chapters 1-6 just 10/10, no notes! Ilya gets high and gets himself lost in the woods, then falls out of a tree trying to see better. Along comes bitter Shane who got injured and had to quit hockey... he has convinced himself he hates Ilya, but of course it's jealousy and now- DESIRE. Ilya shoots his shot as subtly as possible but thanks to the tism, Shane misses it. Ilya crashes out and says what he wants. They go the oral route then BOFFUM act stupid cause of course they do. Shane says he doesn't like him which of course hurts Ilya's feelings DESPITE the fact that he started it. lol Shane builds him a chair and blames it on being a Metros fan. LOLOLOL Shane was forced to literally throw himself on Ilya to get him to stop the interrogation.
Ch 7 just sexy time and washing off in the creek. Shane has condoms but they'll need to get creative for lubricant in the next ch... Ilya is still suspicious of Shane's confession of not liking him
Ch 8 aloe vera gel saved the day. Ilya learns about navigation, they have sex, then Shane impetuously asks about his draft day. Ilya tries to avoid the topic of hockey cause it clearly pisses shane off, but he still got pissed, Ilya told him about russia and the fam and now Shane feels bad!
Ch 9 they argue over Champ then she gets lost. They find her and Shane apologizes -

The Russian pet name set a firework off inside Shane's mind as he heard it cooed from behind him. The intonation was just as he remembered, but the voice was much deeper.He turned and felt himself short circuit. It took every ounce of willpower to not let his jaw drop cartoonishly to the floor. Shane would recognize his individual features anywhere, even after 5 years. But it was as if someone had snapped their fingers and the smug, silly Russian boy who had been attached to Shane's hip for 3 summers was transformed into some sort of fucking Adonis right before his eyes.
“Ilya-” was all Shane managed before strong arms were wrapped around his waist and lifting him off the ground in a greeting all too familiar from years ago.

Summary
This summer would be Shane Hollander’s first year as head lifeguard. The Joint had recently undergone a program expansion, partnering with the local schools for swim lessons and the local summer camp for Fun Zone Fridays, in which hoards of dusty elementary schoolers came from the nearby wilderness park to splash about and cause general mayhem.
Part of this expansion included promoting not just Shane to head lifeguard, but Rozanov, arguably the most beloved staff member and biggest thorn in Shane’s side, to head swim instructor.
Shane and Rozanov would be working all day, every weekday, at the same pool.
It was going to be a long summer.
Or: Shane and Ilya spend the whole summer working together shirtless by the pool, antagonizing each other and trying very hard not to fall in love. They fail.

Whew! Ilya drops off the face of the earth in 2014 and Shane gets injured in 2024. They are both in some crazy small town. Ilya has bakery and Shane coaches peewee girls hockey. Ilya has twins with Sveta but they never loved each other. Essentially, they have to heal from Vegas and are trying to find their way back to each other. Coach Hollander is close with the twins. Ilya and Shane haven't had sex in over 6 weeks trying to slow things down and build REAL intimacy, but they're both clearly over it. Therapist gave Shane terrible advice not knowing enough of the situation... as a therapist... tsk tsk tsk...
CH 18 Shane goes to help his parents and they miss each other desperately. cinnamon rolls and I'd have folded like a cheap suit;
CH 19 Shane tells Hayden he's gay and they discuss Vegas but not Ilya, then he goes to talk to Svetlana and it gets kinda dark but really necessary, then Shane goes home early and a recruiter tries to get him to coach bigger kids. Story ends with Shane asking Ilya to his house OMG OMG -

Marly, Vic and Rozy kidnap Shane. The team knows about their relationship. Shane is being courted heavy by Boston and Ilya. Shane and his parents surprise Ilya at a game. Boston wins and goes out to celebrate and while out, Shane learns he has been traded to Boston!!!!!!!!!!! Ch 13- Shane and Ilya are being domestic. Shane is upset the world heard Ilya call him Solnyshko and is struggling with it. The Bears welcome him via group chat and Hayden surprises him at breakfast.

After days sharing Shane's montreal apartment, the Boston raiders are cleared for departure. they both cried as they separated then shane played horribly at his game and ilya couldn't pick up women at the bar for missing shane. shane stole ilya's sweatshirt and left one of his for ilya. the metros are being awful to shane. Marly knows about them and Yuna walked in on them but ilya lied about him being there to discuss publicity. CH 25 hayden is insufferable, shane and ilya miss each other and ilya warns shane about Russian espionage ch26 Ilya deals with his horrible brother and father in moscow before heading Sochi. they of course lose to Latvia. Marleau is on team canada and passing messages between ilya and shane. ilya and shane see ea other from a distance. so sad and sweet. ch 27 moscow is of course a shit show. back to the states and shane and rozy miss each other. that's it. Ch 28 Shane surprises Ilya in Boston after Stanley cup win OMG OMG
