-Vox pushes the small man against the wall, gripping his neck within his hand. “Don’t you dare do that, boy.” He slams against the wall behind him, “Never say goodbye to me.”
He towers above him, eyes misty as he tries so hard to pull the pieces of Vox Akuma together; to hold them tightly and not break under the words of such an insignificant man. “I don’t want them. I want to own your ‘Hello's' instead, your ‘Good Morning’s, with that squeaky ‘Darling’ at the end of all of them. Never goodbyes. Don’t ever give me your goodbyes.”
Shoto looks up at his lover above him. He nudges him slightly with a hand, surprised that Vox actually moved under his touch.
He doesn’t break his gaze as he lifts his dagger to his neck and gives the shittiest grin of his career.
“I guess I’ll just leave without saying them then.”

Wilbur takes one look at Phil before looking back up at the sky.
”Phil,”
“Why did you choose to take care of us?” Of me? He keeps the last part of the question to himself.
Phil remained silent. Because he had realized that they had become more than just strangers to him. That he had begun to feel every hurt they experienced. Every pain and agony they went through, he felt it too. Every joy, every sadness. For them to suffer, for them to feel hurt. It would be like a hand had reached through into his chest and grabbed his heart. Raw skin against the bloody organ. Ribs exposed to the cruelty of the world. If they had ceased to be, so would he. At some point, he had stopped praying for his own survival but for theirs. He prays for their forevers, he prays for the sounds of their laughter to drift through the meadows till the end of time. He wishes for their happiness because they are his own. He wishes for their safety because it meant their eternities.
In the end, he only replies simply.
“Because I’m selfish.”
