"Wow, dude, this thing is awesome. Does it generate its own electricity?" Peter flipped the hammer once in the air and caught it, watching in amazement as sparks danced over it. "Like, I know you're the god of thunder, but I didn't know your hammer had magic powers too! That is so cool. I want one. Like, I won't get it, obviously, 'cause I don't want to steal your thunder—no pun intended.”
He grinned at his totally-intended pun, but Thor didn't react. Not even a twitch of the lips.
“Okay, yeah, that was a dumb joke,” Peter admitted. “Sorry. Here's your hammer, Mr. Thor.” He held out the weapon to its rightful owner.
Thor just stared.

See, there’s a power some Aphrodite kids have, a sensitivity that’s rare for them to possess but possible to own. It’s meant to be romantic hearing the heartbeats of those closest to you. It’s used to hear how the heart beats and see who is flustered around those they love or like. Piper had always had it but had never really noticed it, not until Jason. She used to hear how his heart would skip a beat every time she gave him a smile meant only for him or when she defeated him in a spar. From then on, it was easy to listen to the heartbeats of her friends. She had tried it with strangers and acquaintances but it didn’t work the way it did with people she had feelings for, platonic or otherwise.
And now, she can't focus on Jason's heartbeat at all. It must be the sound of the screaming that drowned it out because it must still be beating.

The mist shimmered, before showing them all an image of a once beautiful mountain now surrounded by clouds of ashen smoke and bright red lava. No sign of green in sight, all the trees destroyed.
Pollux's eyes widened, Katie Gardner gasped, and Beckendorf clenched his fists so tightly they began to pale. All Annabeth could do was pray to her mother. Please, she thought on repeat, not him.
"So…" Lee Fletcher started tentatively, "is Percy alive?"
The thought that Percy died in the eruption shook everyone in the room to their core. Not only because he was a great and loyal friend, but because he was supposed to be the one of the great prophecy.
In which following the eruption caused by Percy at Mount Saint Helens, instead of landing on Calypso's Island, Percy is thrown far back into the Labyrinth and captured by the titans. Annabeth must continue on her quest alone while Percy fights for survival.

His hands shook as he held onto the blade, blue eyes becoming sad. With difficulty, and perhaps reluctance, he stabs himself. It’s not a deep cut, but Luke screams so loudly all the same.
The throne room shakes.
Then it just… stops.
He slowly opens his eyes.
In front of him are surroundings so familiar that it aches. Air that smells of strawberries and rolling green hills. Groves of trees and a winding stream that have become a second home to him throughout the years take over his vision. A blue sky hangs overhead without a storm cloud in sight, something that Percy slowly became accustomed too. On the tallest hill is a familiar tree, but it startles Percy. There’s no fleece- and the guard isn’t there.

“I feel like a fraud,” Jason said, mournfully, getting startled snorts from both Piper and Leo.
People aren’t machines, and machines aren’t as breakable as people, but both require love and care. And turns out, Leo’s good with both.

Jason’s smile is fading with his body. “That’s not true. Don’t lie to yourself, Valdez.”
“Well, screw you man,” Leo says, voice hoarse. “For whatever you’re implying. For even thinking that. For even—screw you.“
“Believe it or not, for a long time I wanted to say the same thing to you,” Jason says simply. Stops.
