“Looks like I’ve got you alone,” Akechi murmurs, his breath minty, his face so close to Akira’s that Akira can’t focus on anything except those big hazy eyes staring back at him: the pupils wide as dinner plates, the Palace’s cold lights catching thin slices of iris. It feels like maybe Akechi’s staring at something other than Akira.
Akira steadies himself with a deep breath, which is a bad idea, because he just inhales more Akechi.
A misaimed status ailment leaves Akechi unwillingly acting out Akira’s secret fantasies. Afterwards, Akira struggles both to cope and to repair their splintered relationship.

Summary
The Phantom Thieves have nearly secured their route through Maruki's Palace. There’s only one section left: The Twilight Corridor. A paradise where everything is perfect, and everyone is always smiling.
In order to enter that place, the Thieves must first prove they've "completed orientation" and can be "happy." There are points, there is a scoreboard, and they’re locked together in an experimental space where wishes can be granted by simply saying them aloud. Everyone has to individually earn 100 happiness points, or no one is leaving.
So what is “happiness,” really? How does Maruki define happiness? What the hell is a quantifiable happiness point? Is there any way around this? Don’t these stupid kids realize this is a trick to get them to fall back into the thrall of Maruki’s reality? And why can’t Goro earn any fucking points?
(Or: I've been watching too much Dropout Game Changer and I’ve built an Akechi torture chamber.)

As soon as he saw Amamiya's prowess in combat, his aggravatingly deft handling of Personas, Goro felt the urge take root. Whether to prove his superiority, his seniority, or just to knock Joker down a peg or two… It's difficult to put exact reasoning to it.
But the lack of exact definition doesn't make the feeling any less palpable. Any less compelling, especially as time wore on.
So, when he sees a prime opportunity… Of course he takes it. Amamiya seemed slightly cautious of Goro's admittedly rather odd request to meet one-on-one in Mementos, but more than that, he seemed intrigued. Curious enough to accept such a proposal without much questioning.
Well. He's not like his nosy little cat friend, but there's still quite the apt saying about curiosity.

With Shido's connections still out and about, he's had to be a bit... creative to make ends meet. To fly under any and all radars that could still be on the search for him. Never staying in one spot for more than a couple months, taking what work he can that doesn't ask too many questions.
Currently- and unfortunately- he's back in Tokyo. Risky, but easier to disappear among the masses, his pulse lost in the beating heart of the big city. Nothing but another face in the crowd. To make himself harder to find, he tends to frequent parts of the city his younger self wouldn't have been caught dead in.
Yet here he is, tucked away in a side room of one of the more popular clubs in Shinjuku. How the mighty have fallen.

A proper homecoming, a precious hour and a half before they needed to step on stage for the final act, and more than enough of a fool's notion of sentimentality. Herlock Sholmes was set to enjoy what little time he had with his partner before the grand finale of their ten year dance.
It was a shame, then, that he had to ruin it.
(Or...I wish the game let us see them address the implications of what happened on the Grouse)
