In order to butter him up, the Northeastern nobles wait until the end of the meal to approach Cale with the proposition of Eric Wheelsman taking over all of Cale's social interactions at the Crown Prince's gathering. As a result, Cale has to spend the whole meal trying his best to act like a mean bastard. Yet somehow, all of his efforts backfire entirely. Why are they acting as if he's reformed or something?!
Or, a what-if AU of chapter 35 where Cale attempts to be trash... and fails spectacularly, for some inexplicable reason.

Powder had spotted her through the window nearly twenty minutes ago, and she has not moved since, not even to blink those eerie lamplight eyes. The only reason she knows she still lives is the quiet buzz of her voice, humming a familiar begging song.

Viktor stays silent, watching her - but just like he feels younger, she must too, because she doesn’t lash out, or scream at him for what he did.
She sniffles, and hugs herself tighter.
“I thought it was a second chance. And then I jinxed it.” She looks at him, not afraid but alone. “And I figured that, hey, who will understand a monster better than another monster, right?”
Or; instead of dying in the finale, Viktor appears in the past. Jinx got zapped with him.

"Mylo, leave her alone" And a familiar girl admonished him, turning her face and smiling softly at her " Morning, Pow-Pow, how was you sleep?"
Pow-Pow, a nickname she no longer associated with herself.
Powder was weak and imperfect. Jinx was perfect.
She was so perfect, she had travelled back in time, gaining a chance to save her dad. To save Silco and give Zaun it's freedom once again.

Suddenly Caitlyn was kneeling beside her, helping support her weight. Vi's shoulders sagged in relief, but it was short-lived. Because whatever Caitlyn was saying to her got drowned out by screaming.
Vi froze. That was Jinx's voice. Her sister's voice, hoarse and so incredibly desperate, echoed all around them.
The smoke was dissipating now. Vi could see the giant form of Vander's body, not far from where she'd been thrown. And staggering frantically towards it was Jinx, yelling Isha's name. She paused, as if she heard something, before dashing over to Vander, trying to move him out of the way.
Vi could feel Caitlyn trying to steer her in the opposite direction, and she resisted, moving closer to see what was happening. Jinx was clearly struggling, clawing at Vander's arm, but he was just too heavy. Then her head snapped towards them, and vibrant fuchsia eyes met grey.
"Help me!"

Vi looked at the scene in horror, frozen in place, and Jayce was soon behind her, looking over her shoulder at the scene playing out in front of him.
A woman in an enforcer uniform he distantly recognised was tackling a small child, no doubt the person who the cries came from, tearing the girl away from another girl lying prone next to the monster, her back badly burned and her legs no doubt fractured. The child clung to the leather top the older girl was wearing, tearing it from where it had melted into the skin, kicking and screaming as the enforcer tried to throw her off, snarling in fury and reaching for her gun.
Or; Jinx tries to sacrifice herself to protect Isha, and Caitlyn has not forgotten the past. This changes things.
