He was slumped against the cool glass of the window, his winner's medal heavy around his neck, clinking against the zipper of his hoodie every time the bus hit a bump. His hair was a wild, damp mess, his cheeks were flushed bright red from the heat and the champagne, and he had a giant, goofy grin plastered on his face.
He missed Jude. He missed him so much it made his chest ache in that specific, needy way that only happened when he had too much to drink.
With uncoordinated, clumsy fingers, Pablo fumbled his phone out of his pocket. It took him three tries to find Jude’s name in his contacts, his thumb slipping over the screen before he finally hit the FaceTime button.
