Summary
Political diplomacy requires leaders to be honest, passionate, and civil. This is a known fact to everyone. Another well known fact? That Fire Lord Zuko and Chief Sokka are anything but civil with each other.
They are to the bone, bitter, political rivals. Shouting matches at every meeting, bickering every second. It’s all normal until a retreat forces them to room together, and Zuko goes into heat.
Now with “arrangements” — things should be easy and transactional. It would be a disaster if this became a whole thing, wouldn’t it?

“Don’t you explore the other on campus cafes?” Zuko can’t help but ask one day as Sokka approaches, which seems to catch Sokka off guard. “There’s one by that physics building.”
“Now why would I check those out?” Sokka asks with wide eyes, before his lips form that coy smile. “Why would I bother when I know I can see you at this one?” Zuko holds back a groan.
“What do you want.” He asks, more of a statement than a question, which makes Sokka clutch his chest dramatically.
Or: Zuko works at an on-campus cafe and Sokka is an Engineering student who's made it his mission to come to this exact location almost every single day. Why? Zuko doesn't know. All he knows is that Sokka is sometimes a pain in his ass. And he's kind of.. nice too.

Peace comes at a cost: Zuko. Sent to the Water Tribe to marry Sokka, he’s bound to someone who hates him just as much as he hates back. But duty insists on cooperation, and nothing complicates hatred quite like being forced to share a life.
