Summary
Cyril Galanos lived alone in the woods until, one day, he finds a dying man with a collar collapsed near one of his hunting spots. Overwhelmed by an urge to help him, Cyril takes the man back to his cabin and saves his life. However, he soon learns that the life his Shadow led before him was a special kind of hell. Through helping his Shadow heal, Cyril learns to heal from his own battle scars and care about people again.

He realizes it right before everything goes to shit. He’s just standing there in the loft and Eddie’s handing him Christopher’s backpack and talking about “he’s not that fast” and “order pizza” and Buck sort of stares at him—partly in shock, partly in reverence—and he thinks "I love you." He shoves it down immediately, of course, as far down as it’ll go, but the fact of the matter is, it’s there somewhere, floating around inside of him. He can’t get rid of it now.
Not that it matters all that much, though, because there’s the whole quitting thing and the lawsuit thing and the argument in the grocery store and by the time he’s given his (re)start date he knows; he well and truly fucked up.

Summary
Eddie blinks up at him, another moan of pain breaking free as Buck shifts his grip. The blood is pooling on the ground underneath them, spilling out around Eddie’s head like a gruesome halo. It’s spreading down to stain both of their shirts, painting everything it touches with a reminder of violence. Pressure is not working, he has to try something else.
