It does not add up, Baines thinks. The way the man moves, despite his human appearance, is anything but. The hits he delivers, the speed at which he darts about the room, they all point to something inhuman. And yet, there seems to be nothing demonic about him, as evidenced by the anti-demon serum in the bullet not exploding the second it came into contact with his blood.
The last time that had happened, it was with a human infused with devil's blood.
Still, that did not feel… right.
The longer Baines looked at the now paused footage, at the intruder that was making a joke out of DARKCOM's men, something nagged at him. The golden hair, and the golden eyes that Baines can now see clearer, widened in shock as the bullet pierced through him…
Baines resumes the footage, and he sees the wound heal with a flash of gold light before the man continues his onslaught.
He's not human. He's not demon.
Reaching up, Baines clutches the silver cross hanging from his neck.

Summary
Woz exists outside of time yet throughout it entirely, as do is thoughts and emotions to the point he does not often truly connect with them to understand them. Why would he need to? He acts on goals and people, constants before and after him he can put himself towards, not on feelings and shifting of thoughts. He was one of loyalty and predictability in the way he was and always would be Woz. Simple. So then, why was it now that of all the information he held within himself, it was this one fact long since already understood that has brought his world to tilt on it's axis?

My take on a rewrite of the first season of Netflix's Devil May Cry in the format of a screenplay. Based on the work by Alex Larsen, Studio Mir, and the many other skilled and talented artists who worked on this show.
"In a time when it seems mankind is losing sight of what it means to be human, a demon rises from the Underworld to usher in the apocalypse.
Humanity's hope now lies in 'Tony Redgrave', a stylish demon hunter with unnatural abilities and a devil-may-care attitude.
While he and Special Agent Mary Ann Arkham attempt to foil this invasion from Hell, the White Rabbit and his infernal entourage force them to face their own inner demons.
Can mankind be redeemed and saved from damnation? Or will they listen to the devil whispering in their ears?"
⚠️ I may make minor changes to chapters after publishing them to better flesh out the story. If they are notable enough, I will leave notes at the end of each chapter that explain the changes I made. I will NOT alter important plot points that would require anyone to reread previous chapters. ⚠️

“I remember Dante mentioning it was needed for the bonds to form and maintaining them. And there’s the obvious things like our triggers, my wings, your guys’ phantom swords.” Nero answered.
“Yes, those are actions we can take using energy.” Vergil agreed. “But that is not the base responsibility. It functions to keep you alive. It is your power. Your strength, just as is your blood. You know if you lose too much blood, you will lose consciousness. The same thing happens if you overexert yourself and use up more energy than you have to support yourself. And you,” Vergil paused as his head turned to look Nero in the eyes, which Nero reluctantly met as he twisted to look over at him, “were flaunting a lot of your abilities this week.”

Summary
A while back I started drafting a very, very long Vergil and Kat fan fic I called Swan Song. That is far from finished. However I do have these bits and pieces that belong in the same universe and I thought it was best to compile them together for safe keeping. Each piece can be read independently as well.
