Second-person POV, post-canon Vergil, found family, and a methodology that ends up meaning considerably more than it started out as.

She smiled. “Are you… jealous of a child?”

“Do you want me to mother you too, so you don’t feel left out?” she asked and I choked, flustered for the first time in decades. “There’s room for you too.” She patted her thigh. “Come lay here,” she teased me and I got so indignant, but also flushed.Vergil doesn’t care for anything but power; not when he meets an archer who belittles him for getting in her way before disappearing to search for a little girl; and neither about the kid he finds next in the same Trismagia’s Dimension Arius threw him in.
He’s annoyed but he doesn’t… care.
Vergil. Doesn’t. Care. About. Anything. Anymore.
But he has no choice because the kid has Dante’s locket and now he’s stuck with her, and the little shit insists on looking for the awful, disagreeable sapien who shoved him off, but even when he doesn’t care, he was once a kid like her and he wished someone had… saved him, so he reluctantly joins her.

And Dante is standing in the rain outside his apartment, alone, not knowing what just happened to him or why his chest feels like something has been ripped away from it.
He doesn't know the word for what he's just become.
He doesn't know why the night air, without Vergil in it, feels wrong, smells wrong on a visceral and fundamental level the newly formed layer of him deeply resents.
He goes inside.
He does not sleep.
The one in which demon blood finds another way to complicate Vergil and Dante's strenuous relationship.

Dante got addicted to the taste of demon blood and is craving it after being frozen in ice for so long. It certainly wasn't his fault that his brother smelt so tasty.
