Summary
There’s a speck in the window that Kaveh can’t get rid of.
He sits at the windowsill with a cup of coffee cradled between his hands. The warmth of it is comforting, relieving the incessant pounding in his head. His eyes are still rimmed red from the other day’s testimony, and there’s a tension in his gut that’s become something of an old friend lately.
The speck his eyes have been trained on since he wandered into the kitchen is similar in that regard. He can’t stand to look at it, so he closes his eyes and breathes his way into the day.
Slow and steady.

Smoke slithered through the air, thick and suffocating, curling and clinging to his lungs as if it, too, wanted to drag him into the chaos. The acrid bite of burning rubber and scorched coolant clawed at his throat, making each shallow breath a bitter fight. His entire body was sore at first, then it was only his limbs, then only his fingers. He remembers managing to crawl out a pile of dead bodies and waddle in the streets aimlessly until someone– until his sister finds him, patches up the opened wound (that he didn't even know he had) and brings him home. A home that he didn’t even know where it was located.
That's what the start of the apocalypse looks like to him.

But truthfully, the "weird" part is the only part that's accurate. He's determined not to be a weakling, and in spite of what it says on paper, he's not actually quirkless. Even before meeting All-Might and taking on the power of One For All, Izuku isn't quirkless.
Not that anyone would believe it if he told them.

For Freminet, taking the brunt of what he thought was an acid attack aimed towards Spina di Rosula's boss was nothing more than a split second decision. He wouldn't call himself a hero by any stretch of the imagination, and he wouldn't say he led his life with noble and virtuous intentions either...
...but when the urge to help someone comes to him, he ponders little over it. That's just what a good person would do, and Freminet desperately wants to be a good.
Still, maybe he should have paid more attention to just what was being splashed.
OR
Freminet dissolves into water. That really should have been the end of it, but it seems like the ocean wasn't keen on letting him go yet.

Alhaitham did not even perceive the sudden movements of his own limbs and body when he stood up so harshly that the chair behind him fell to the ground with a thud, or how his legs took him outside of his office, down through the library, through the hallways; or how his right hand constricted around the piece of file about this illness that somehow remained in his palm.
Maybe Kaveh’s sixth sense was right. Again.
A sudden, undefinable disease strikes over Teyvat, leaving Alhaitham and Kaveh helpless and distressed while having to do everything to protect the people precious to them and also protecting themselves. In a second, Alhaitham realizes that his once happy and peaceful life has come to an end, but at the same time, his goal becomes claiming it back.
However, gaining what has been taken from you while everything that was once in it became broken isn't easy.
