Summary
He barely managed to lay eyes on her before hands clamped down onto his arms and shoulders, and chaos erupted around them once again. Guns flew up as fists were thrown, and distantly, Mike heard his name among cries and other yelling, but when he lunged toward his friends, the hands on him tightened, preventing him from running to them.
It took him another second to realize they weren't just holding him back. They were pulling him away.
Post El's "death," Mike and the rest of the party are detained by Dr. Kay and the military. When Mike is separated from them, he is forced to deal with an off-the-rails Dr. Kay and an angry Sergeant holding a grudge.

"Mike could reason a lot away.
He'd been having nightmares since the day Will went missing, and headaches and even nosebleeds were symptoms of sleep deprivation and stress, both of which weren't exactly uncommon occurrences in his life. He hadn't heard any clock, and he thinks he'd know if he'd been hunted by a monster from another dimension - probably.
But Mike was also not a complete idiot - usually - and he was good at recognising patterns.Most damming of all, all of this had stopped practically the second he left Hawkins.

Summary
“We’ll be there with you though!” says Anxin. “And if you really really hate it you can leave early, I promise. Please? It won’t be as fun without you.” His voice gets sad and pouty on that last line, and he hasn’t dropped the puppy-eyes. Sanghyeon, who’s been released from Anxin’s hold, isn’t even trying to hold back his laughter. They all know it’s just a matter of time before Xinlong caves.
He lasts about ten seconds.
“Fine, I’ll come.”
Anxin cheers, darting around the table to tackle him with a hug as well. “You’re the best Longlong! It’ll be fun, I promise. You won’t regret it.
He regrets it already.

Or: Xinlong has spent his whole life being largely invisible, and he likes it that way. But when his friends start pushing him to branch out more and he somehow catches the eye of someone they would've never expected, he now has to figure out how to navigate a complicated web of social relationships that he's used to only watching from the sidelines.

Summary
His hands were cupping his face, the pressure of his fingers against the wound making him scream again. He couldn't see, his eyes blurred with tears and pain in a way that made everything fuzzy,
No… wait… only one of his eyes was bouncing around wildly, eyeing the snarling Demogorgon that was sniffing at the fresh splatter of blood on its claw. He was watching it, a keen rising in his chest when he realized that it was only out of one eye.
It was- It must've been the blood that was making it hard to see, the blood was gluing his eye shut, that was why he couldn't see. He cried out when the Demogorgon turned back towards him, flinching away when it roared in his face, tensing like it was about to lunge.

The Demogorgon got to Mike a few seconds earlier, claws ripping through fragile skin and now Mike had to fight to heal and adjust while trying to rescue his sister from an inter dimensional monster. Which is actually pretty hard when he's in pain, drugged to the gills, and can't stop blurting out things that he would really rather not. Case in point: the Quarry, the box of unsent letters in the back of his closet (Ironic, yes, he knows) and his embarrassingly massive crush on his best friend.

Donghyun tapped his foot on the floor as he waited for his turn. It was his last meeting with the neurologist, and she would finally give him his diagnosis. Donghyun's mind wouldn't shut up, hadn't since his doctor made the appointment. Questions of what his diagnosis might be clashed against the intrusive thought that maybe he didn't have any kind of neurodivergence, and was just really fucking weird. He didn't know what was scarier, the idea of actually having an official disability or the possibility that this might all just be him making shit up to justify his inability to function properly.
OR
Donghyun is diagnosed with ASD and slowly starts coming to terms with his diagnosis and letting his friends know about it
