He turned his head to look at Tommy who looked utterly perplexed.

“The force from Star Wars is real?”
“Weren’t you the one who said to not joke right now because I’m dead?” Purpled retorted with annoyance clear in his voice.
“But I’m not joking, I'm confused.” Tommy all but whined

Tommy and Purpled have to get through a superpower-having life. Which is hard since Tommy’s being hunted by the hero commission and is a vigilante and purpled already failed at the life part of the mission. -

Shadow Milk didn’t answer right away. He didn’t speak, didn’t move, he just stood there with his hands fisted together tightly at his sides. Then, slowly, he looked up.
Their eyes met.
Shadow Milk’s expression was carefully blank, but his eyes gave him away. Tired. Uneasy. Like he’d been awake far too long with thoughts that wouldn’t leave him alone.
That was all Pure Vanilla needed to see.

Summary
It’s 1962, and John Lennon is certain of the future.
The band is rising, the world is opening up, and Paul is right beside him through it all.
Next thing he knows, he’s waking up ten years later in a white, silent apartment called the Dakota. He’s still twenty-two, still himself but apparently not the only John Lennon in existence.
The Beatles are over, there are lawsuits being filled and songs causing wounds. And Paul won’t stay on the phone long enough to make whatever has happened right again.
Now, George and Ringo are left dealing with a younger John who doesn’t understand how he ever let it all go this wrong.

Ringo watches him bristle at every last piece of the last decade, and mutters, almost to himself,
“I forgot how bad it was. He really couldn’t stand the thought of Paul without him.”
