“Grace,” Rocky said, voice pitching upward in the telltale way it did when he was nervous.
Eyes still tracing the seemingly never-ending ship, Grace swallowed thickly. “Yeah, buddy?”
A crackle sounded out over the speakers, the alarm system finally fading away before being replaced by a sound Grace had never heard before—a transmission request.
“Aliens want speak with Grace and Rocky.”

If Rodimus had, say, been sitting up by the bar at Swerve’s, having a nice sip of engex while hearing that sentence, he absolutely would have spat everywhere upon its completion. Maybe fallen off his chair, too.
As it is, despite having no drink to spit nor chair to disembark, he still chokes on nothing, sputtering helplessly at Ratchet’s stone cold serious face.
“I—you—I’m sorry, did—I—” Rodimus finally gives up and simply asks, “What?”
“I want you to fuck Drift for me,” Ratchet repeats, like it’s any more comprehensible a second time around.

Summary
IDW Continuity compliant (Let me know if you see mistakes, I haven´t read all the comics so I don´t know if some of them are where they are supposed to be... i.e. dead or not). This takes place between the Lost Lights disassembly and Ratchets (potential spoiler) Last canon appearance. It is supposed to fill the undefined time, that Drift and Ratchet had together post LL and MTMTE.
2 years after the Lost Light was disassembled Drift and Ratchet are back on Cybertron and just starting up their new pop-up clinic. Similarly to how Ratchet offered medical assistance to the bots in Dead End, they decided they wanted to do the same for the lower levels of Cybertron, where the young government doesn´t have a lot of influence and is still struggling to rebuild. Their goal? Establish clinics in the lower levels as a way of showing the, mostly, ex-cons, that they are not forgotten and establish a foundation for them to create a thriving self-sufficient community. A nice sentiment, but not so easily executed. Earning their trust is not going to be easy.

Ratchet has had enough of the Lost Light and enough of missing Drift. There's a simple solution to both: leave and find Drift. But watching as Rodimus is brought in to look at his own corpse without so much as a warning leaves Ratchet with a choice: he can leave and hope everything works itself out or he can step in. And Ratchet has never been content to leave things up to the universe when there's something he can do.
AKA Ratchet asks Rodimus to run away with him to look for Drift and they go on a road trip together

But Drift’s mind was elsewhere. Somewhere terrifying it would seem. And no assurances Ratchet could offer would help him at this point. Except one.
One he had no intention of following through.
