If the squirrel no longer fears Yan, then he must find something that she does fear, and that is this. And this needs to be implemented in the garden immediately, if Yan hopes to protect any more tomatoes.
“My apprentice,” Sidious says, “I have noted that you have been absent from your post lately.”
“Taken ill, I have been, my master,” Yan says smoothly, as though he is not one such person who waltzes around town wielding a great, horned, plastoid bird.
Sidious blinks in a fashion that resembles the very same creature in Yan’s hands. Yan blinks back innocently.
“May we walk?” Sidious asks.
“We may indeed,” Yan says.
(Dooku joined the darkside because he thought it would take him away from a life tied up in red tape and, finding that what was awaiting for him on the other side of the Force was just more goddamn red tape, he moves out to the country to an old cottage and demands that his grandkids come help him set up a pig pen.)

Summary
“Hello,” comes a familiar voice above Barriss. Her voice has deepened and matured in the time since they’ve seen each other, because of course it has, but the knowledge of such a stark change hits Barriss somewhere low in her gut.
Ahsoka leans against the table, all long legs and pretty skin adorned in gold. She towers over Barriss like this, montrals nearly fully developed, and Barriss tries and fails not to stare at her arms.
“I'm Cherry. You interested in a dance, gorgeous?”
Barriss snaps her gaze away from Ahsoka’s arms to look at her face, which is just as terrible, actually, and might even be worse than the sight of her arms. She's biting her lip shyly and looking at Barriss through the sweep of her lashes.
“Yeah,” she rasps, reduced to monosyllables in the face of that expression.

“Of course you do. That alone should convince me that you are who you say you are.” It was a bit of a cheap shot, but she was beginning to believe the woman was Ahsoka Tano, now. Given the name, all of her expressions, all of her movements fell into place. She was the same woman, exactly the same. Only older. And imitating the unruffled demeanor of the Jedi masters.
She’d faced Tano enough times to know that was only an imitation, though.
In which Ventress and Ahsoka go on an adventure, and the Jedi's capability for compassion is tested.
