Alain, American in the late 20th Century gets the chance for a do over in life through a mysterious dream where a voice speaks to him of time travel.
Were he to take up on the opportunity, he would have to ensure the stability of the Veil, the space-time continuum, with other travellers, through what are essentially policing actions.
Time travellers walking through the Veil for the first time awaken special powers, which characteristics depend entirely upon their person.
Alain accepts, and he is taken to the present without complications, finding himself in an apartment and getting a job.
So far the only other time traveller he met is Leo, noble from the 19th century, who acts as his superior, but that is about to change...
