Techno, finally, shatters it. He's confused, still, and he questions, "Playing?"
"Playing what?" Phil asks.
Tommy blinks again, still incredulous. "Playing volleyball. Like I have been for the past month. I told you guys all about it; yesterday, at dinner, I- I invited you all."
Oh. Techno's eyes widen. He'd-- in all honesty, he'd kind of assumed Tommy was inviting them to watch the game with him. So Techno had paid him no mind, and focused on dinner. He hadn't realized Phil and Wilbur had done the same. In his excuse, the message got kind of lost in translation; it's not really his fault.
Wilbur, jaw dropped, ineloquent, repeats. "You play volleyball? Where?"
"For our school, idiot. That's where I go every study hall and gym period; to practice."
"You can't play for the school team. It's varsity, and you're a middle-schooler," Wilbur points out.
If Tommy wasn't angry before, he's angry now. "I'm a freshman!"

"Tommy was very much human. Ok well at least that was what everyone thought.
After being adopted by the Crafts Tommy got to meet hybrids. Phil, his father, was an avian with huge black wings he could use to fly. Tommy often would ask if he could fly with him because he had this gut feeling to do it. Then his brothers the twins who were both piglin hybrids, Wilbur and Techno. Being piglins they were protective of the family so if Tommy got hurt he’d have to deal with both clingy piglins and a mother hen which don’t get him wrong isn’t that bad but it still was annoying not being able to leave the nest because of a paper cut.
Even with all the little details that make them slightly annoying, the Crafts are one of the best families Tommy has stayed with. They make him feel happy and stable, something the others' homes couldn’t do."

Summary
