Long explanation:
The death games were created by Danganronpa for entertainment but scientists that were aware of the games existence used it as a base for their experimentation. All killing games were simulations. All victims survived, but they still need to be freed from Danganronpa so they don’t end up stuck in the game. Kamimura survives the attempted murder in the third chapter, even though they were extremely injured. At the end of Tetro Pink he is free from the simulation, but he still wants to free others from the killing games and end the existence of the killing games. He infiltrates Dv3 as Kokichi Ouma and creates a persona to avoid suspicion from those controlling the game.The plan is going well until everyone (including the “dead” people) appears in a theater to react to Danganronpa Tetro Pink.

1 - When the game asks about why you haven't kept quiet about your dreams, you can answer "because I want them to stop"2 - You can get No More Dreams as early as 12, before you can bypass the Shimmer or the Famine (shields recalibration not included)
3 - In the Observatory, you still get ONE "From Past Life" event, after it made you witness all of time, as if it reconnected you with your lost ability.
Solana wasn't exactly doing peachy before, having lost both her parents, among many tragedies. Recovering what she had lost is certainly not going to help.

Shen Qingqiu takes a moment to take the scene in. Yue Qingyuan's eyes are glazed over and hazy, seeming to struggle to focus on things. His movements are broad and sloppy, uncharacteristically clumsy. When he speaks, even his voice stumbles over itself, not at all deliberate and measured in the way it normally is. His guan is a little crooked, and the collar of his robe is askew as if it’s been haphazardly pulled on.
“He’s drunk?” Shen Qingqiu asks with incredulous disgust.
“I don’t know how!” the disciple cries. “Shizun barely had anything to drink tonight, I’m sure of it. He seemed normal, but then suddenly he started losing his balance and saying odd things. I led him here so he wouldn’t make a scene. Shishu, what should we do?”
Well, they most certainly cannot let these outsiders see their sect leader drunk as a skunk. Cang Qiong would be made a laughingstock by some pathetic, no-name sect that’s barely climbed its way up from complete and utter irrelevance. Shen Qingqiu won’t tolerate it.

Qifrey and Olruggio figure out what life looks like after the silverwood seed is gone. Fair warning, it starts with a good amount of angst but moves into lots of comfort. Full of yearning all the way through.
You definitely don't have to read the earlier bits in the series - it's all just a series of Olruggio and Qifrey yearning.
