He heard Evbo humming next to him; a song that Boey had heard him sing before, actually. He didn't know all the lyrics, but he knew some of them. Subconsciously, when a part came up that he knew, he would open his mouth and quietly sing along.
It wasn't on purpose. It was simply the result of a lesson going rusty. A rusty door with hinges that screeched every time it was opened, finally breaking open and exposing the thing inside. He didn't even think anything of it.
Not until Evbo stopped humming for a moment to casually comment- "You know, you have a nice voice. I don't think I've ever heard you sing before."Why Boey doesn't sing anymore.

Evbo's broken arm would throb in tune with his heart, and his empty stomach would growl and twist and eat itself alive with its own acid, and he would curl into himself like the small child he was and squeeze his eyes shut as if it might hide him from the world. He would bury his face in his worn, thin pillow, shivering beneath the sheets that were far too thin to protect against the sharp chill of the stagnant air.
Distantly, maybe, he would recognize that he was ill, but illness was nothing but an annoyance. It wouldn't spare him.
Because despite being a child, a delicate fourteen years old, Evbo was a Noob. And that title defined him far more than his age ever would.When Evbo was a child, he had a dream.

They had a child of their own now. Boey should be happy for them. They had a little girl, a child of their own blood, one that didn’t have a million pieces to pick up after. She wasn’t damaged. She wasn’t broken. She wasn’t a project to be put back together.
She was a fresh start. A new beginning.
Boey had no place in that story.
He knew it. Nobody said anything, but he knew it deep within his gut. Boey was too volatile. Too dangerous. He lashed out and screamed when he got overwhelmed. He clawed at his skin when he was breaking apart. Little Nebula wasn’t safe near him, and he knew that perfectly well.

“He… he’s scared of being part of a family. Of being important to someone.” Parrot folded his wing tightly to his back. “He wants to be your son, but he’s so scared of ruining it that he doesn’t know what to do. He doesn’t want to hurt you.” Parrot’s eyes met Evbo’s. “I… I think you guys need to talk to him about it.”Evbo and his partners have a very important discussion with Boey about the nature of their relationship.

He knows he should do something about it. He just doesn’t know how.

Summary
It was a stupid idea to visit EMF that much— he hadn’t considered that the difference in time would lead to their interactions being incredibly close together to them, which was by all accounts a horrible miscalculation.
He’d practically been accosting them every time he could, to the point they could tell his presence simply from the way the world shifted around him(which was another mistake. He should have considered how the presence of something as big as himself would corrupt the code near him. Shit.). It was clear, Evbo had spent too much time not focusing on his job and mucking around with entities.
And now he had an excuse not to! He could just be left alone and fufil his duties in peace without having to interact with anyone.
… for all of eternity.

After his fight with EMF, Evbo has decided to fully focus on his duties as the Parkour God, with no more distractions in his way.
That being said, being alone without anything or anyone else is easier said than done.

He becomes a vessel for his memories, clinging onto the stability of the past to avoid confronting an uncertain future.
The beginning of January is a lifetime away, but he remembers desperately wanting to know D3rlord. Did the universe give him Derek for this purpose? Did it want him to know Derek – his Derek, not just a figure on a pedestal behind a screen – in order to give him something to grieve properly?
