“C’mon,” Ava says, smoothly sliding from the bed to her feet, using their still joined hands to pull Beatrice with her. “You can tell me about traveling Europe while we eat”—she pauses dramatically; Beatrice braces herself for it—“I’m Hungary for some Turkey.”
Out of all things she could’ve said, this is what springs Beatrice into action, using her free hand to pull Ava by her waist until they’re chest to chest. She kisses the cheeky grin on Ava’s face; every time they do this, she thinks it’s better than the last.

Beatrice eventually goes back to the Alps to find herself; she finds her faith in Ava has never been misplaced.

The issue was, well, she had quite a few issues around sleeping. That’s probably not all that surprising given…everything…but lately, since the whole thing with the being murdered and then the nuns repeatedly trying to kill her again and the tomb and Adriel and the battle and all of that, Ava has really not been able to sleep well.
She can sleep, yes, and obviously has to when she gets too exhausted that not even the Halo can keep her moving. But when she does it is not pretty. She’s been decently good at hiding all of this so far. Even on the road while they were trying to get here, she’d been good at hiding it. She can fake sleep well and has gotten pretty good at timing little naps when she has the space to be fully alone. Even if that was only 30 minutes at a time while Beatrice ran out of their motel rooms to get them supplies, it would at least keep her afloat.
But now there might never be any time to be alone. Beatrice had just sworn not to leave Ava alone in sleep and she would be sharing with Beatrice for the foreseeable future.

Ever since that moment in the hall after Mother Superion’s office, Ava looks at her with such an open, trusting, and hopeful look, it actually pulls the breath from Beatrice’s lungs.
At least, most of the time…
She doesn’t look at any of the others like that. Like she trusts them. Not even Camila. Her eyes are sharp and cold, wary at the edges, even when she starts growing closer to them.
She smiles, but it’s not open or hopeful.
Beatrice understands. She’d listened to Ava when the others disregarded her. She read between the lines when she studied the reports of Ava’s orphanage. She heard the darkness haunting what Ava wasn’t saying. She understands why Ava might have a hard time with Nuns, especially this group of Nuns asking her to do such horrible and dangerous things.
Yet, most of the time when she looks at Beatrice her eyes are like warm pits of chocolate, pulling Beatrice ever deeper and deeper, even despite her being a Nun.Series

She would be by far the youngest of the Princess’ ladies. Desmera Darklyn, dark and richly dressed, leaned up to whisper something in the Princess’ ear, and she smiled. Alicent felt her cheeks flush.
“Lady Alicent, thank you for joining us. I am so glad you were able to accompany your father from the Hightower. He tells me you are most accomplished.” The Princess held out a hand, her jewels winking in the candlelight. Alicent approached and kissed that hand, the metal and stones cold under her lips.
“I thank you for the honour of your invitation, my Princess,” Alicent replied, trying not to let her voice tremble. This was to be the most time she had ever spent outside the Reach, and the first time she had left the Hightower since her mother died. The family was out of mourning now, but Alicent still wore the darkest shade of green she had. “I hope I will be pleasing to you.”
Princess Rhaenyra smiled with all her teeth. “I am sure you will.”

Years into the war, Obi-Wan disappears off a battlefield, presumed captured by Separatists. There is no sign of him for months, and Anakin begins to spiral, becoming more and more desperate. But when his Master is finally heard from again, it’s worse than he ever could have imagined.
Unbeknownst to the Jedi, Obi-Wan was brought directly to Count Dooku. He had more than three months of the Sith’s undivided attention, his grandmaster’s ultimate goal being to force him into joining him, by any means necessary. In the end, Dooku succeeds in making him Fall.
But.
The Count failed to consider the depth of Obi-Wan Kenobi’s devotion (attachment), to the people in his life, to the people of the galaxy.
And it would be the undoing of both Darth Tyrannous and his Master.
